Tim Tebow might be one of the biggest names in the NFL, but his fellow players don't believe he deserves that status. In a Sports Illustrated survey of 180 players, the New York Jets' backup quarterback was the runaway winner as the league's most overrated player. According to multiple media reports, Tebow received 34 percent of the votes. The man Tebow understudies, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, tied with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo for second place at 8 percent. Eagles quarterback Michael Vick came in fourth place with 4 percent of the vote, and Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis took fifth place at 3 percent. Asked his reaction to the lofty "rankings" for his two quarterbacks, Jets coach Rex Ryan replied, "Wow, what are you going to say? I don't know how to comment on that. I just know I'm happy they're on my football team -- on our football team. "Seems like the Jets always get something, you know?" As recently as January, Tebow was the toast of the NFL. He led the Denver Broncos on a strong second-half surge last season, then beat the Pittsburgh Steelers with an 80-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime in the playoff opener. Tebow was dealt to the Jets in the offseason, and he's barely been visible this season. He has gained three first downs on fake punts, and he's run a handful of plays out of the Wildcat formation. "Of course, I think every competitor wants to be out on the field, there's no doubt," Ryan said Wednesday. "We're a team. I think it's all about that. I think Tim understands that a great deal. However he can help he's about as positive as a guy there is. Would he like to be out there? I'm sure he would, just like any of our players would." Sanchez ranks 30th among NFL starting quarterbacks in passer rating (74.6). Romo ranks 19th at 84.6. Romo has thrown more interceptions (nine) than touchdown passes (eight), but he has completed 67.9 percent of his passes for 1,636 yards. Sanchez has thrown nine TD passes and been picked off seven times. He's completed 53.2 percent of his throws for 1,453 yards.
