INDIANAPOLIS - DECEMBER 06: Kenny Britt #18 of the Tennessee Titans runs with the ball during the NFL game against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on December 6, 2009 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)
Mixed in with all the excitement in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs came a report that oft-troubled Titans WR Kenny Britt was somehow involved in an incident that ended in a stabbing, where he dropped the victim off at the hospital and left, not speaking to police. Police are looking for information on a stabbing, and Titans WR Kenny Britt is in hiding. (AP Photo/Lenny Ignelzi) After the news broke, an anonymous spokesperson for Britt issued a statement telling the media that Britt was cooperating with Police in the matter. “Kenny was leaving a dinner cooked by his friends’ parents – it was not a house party – when he found his friend, who had left earlier, injured outside. Kenny immediately brought his friend to the hospital and was there with the injured friend’s family for several hours, but was not otherwise involved in the incident. Kenny’s brother was not injured (and wasn’t even there) and Kenny has made himself available to cooperate with the authorities investigation of this matter.”  The statement said via the Tennessean. Well, that statement was found to not be entirely true, and Britt is on the run from police, not cooperating. According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Britt is nowhere to be found, and the police are looking for him.   N.J. police captain on Kenny Britt: “At this point he is still not cooperating with police. So whatever statement he puts out is false.” — Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) January 14, 2013   Capt Edgar Martinez on Britt: “We are asking anyone who has info of his whereabouts to contact us & that includes the owner of the #Titans.” — Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) January 14, 2013   More from Capt. Martinez: “Anybody who has information on where Kenny Britt can be located, please contact police … at 201-547-5460.” — Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) January 14, 2013   All in all, this situation is turning into yet another mess involving Britt, who has been a nuisance to the league since joining. He has been arrested nine times for various crimes from Driving under the Influence to Theft, and leading police on a car chase. He was never suspended by the league for off-the-field incidents as a majority of his foolishness stemmed during the NFL’s lockout, where Roger Goodell determined he couldn’t discipline Britt for actions during it. If arrested, this will be his tenth arrest, and based off his history, it won’t be his last. He was relatively quiet in the 2012 season, catching 45 balls for 589 yards and four touchdowns.   Follow us on Twitter @DownandDistance Down and Distance Editor-in-Chief – Justin Arbogast @NFLGuy_SK The post Police: Kenny Britt not cooperating with Stabbing Investigation appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE.
