EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Minnesota Vikings leading receiver Percy Harvin will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury.
Harvin, who has a team-high 62 catches and 677 receiving yards and is the NFL's leading kickoff returner with a 35.9-yard average, did not travel with the team for Sundays NFC North game against the Green Bay Packers. Harvin, who has been out since spraining...
In a new NFL era of pass-heavy offenses and running back-by-committee, there are those who believe Emmitt Smith's career rushing record will never be broken.
Adrian Peterson isn't among them.
The Minnesota Vikings star rusher is undaunted by what it would take for him to reach Smith's mark of 18,355 yards. Even though he would have to maintain his career average of...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Leslie Frazier knows the limitations of his 6-6 Minnesota Vikings very well. Twelve games into the season and clinging to fading playoff hopes, Frazier knows there is no savior that is going to appear magically to rescue Minnesota's last-ranked passing offense.
"It's not like at this time of the season somebody's going to drop a special guy...
Eric Dickerson. Jim Brown. Barry Sanders. Earl Campbell. Edgerrin James. Before Sunday, this was the collection of youngest NFL players to rush for 8,000 yards in their career. That's pretty good company. REAL damn good company. Green Bay couldn't even have a wet dream to an NFL running back like that. But you know what? The Vikings could, and the Vikings...

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- For the Minnesota Vikings (6-5) to make the playoffs this season, they'll need to win at least one of their two upcoming games with the division-rival Packers (7-4). The first of those two NFC North showdowns is Sunday at Lambeau Field, with both teams' regular-season schedules concluding four weeks later in Minnesota.
"I want to go ahead and control...
Despite another poor outing from Christian Ponder, he will remain the Vikings’ starter, Leslie Frazier confirmed.
GREEN BAY, Wis. Assessing the Packers' defensive performance in their 23-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings depends greatly on how a team values each statistical category. Allowing 210 rushing yards to Adrian Peterson is about as bad as it gets, but with that production being coupled with only 119 passing yards, while giving up just 14 points and forcing two key interceptions...
Getting fined for a tackle last Sunday is not fine with Brian Urlacher. The Chicago Bears linebacker will appeal an NFL fine resulting from a stop on Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. Urlacher brought down Peterson near the sideline in the fourth quarter with a horse-collar tackle that drew a 15-yard penalty in the Bears' 28-10 win. "Oh yes, for sure, appealing...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings are feeling the sting of two straight key losses on the road in the NFC North, but at least Sunday didn't add injury to the insult.
Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier said Monday that he didn't have any new news to add regarding injured receiver Percy Harvin, who missed his third straight game Sunday, a 23-14 loss at Green Bay. Frazier...
The Vikings haven’t experienced much success on the road, but they believe they have been taken away from their strength when forced to pass. The numbers for Adrian Peterson in losses and wins support that theory. Plus, Matt Kalil talks about leading Pro Bowl voting among fans and the Vikings have to prepare for the Packers’ version of Percy Harvin.
Aaron Rodgers was aided by a good running game while the Vikings had nothing but Adrian Peterson. With the Packers pitching a second-half shutout, they beat the Vikings 23-14 and stayed right in the heart of the playoff race.
The Green Bay Packers are back atop the NFC North, and they have a very unlikely source to thank.
Minutes after the Packers wrapped up their 23-14 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon, Seattle beat Chicago in overtime to drop the Bears back into a tie with Green Bay for the division lead.
Yes, that would be the same Seattle team that stole a win from the Packers...
