Found April 25, 2013 on Zone Blitz:
We were about two-thirds of the way through our Team Blogger Mock Draft when the trade between Tampa Bay and the New York Jets illustrated the complete futility of the effort by making a trade that made it obsolete. I probably should have gone back and re-done it, but I was running out of time. So I left it as it was and moved on, but I did want to address the trade and its impact on the first round that will start now within a matter of a couple hours. So I checked back with Joe Caporoso from Turn on the Jets and Leo Howell from the Pewter Plank to see what their first thoughts were. Both seemed fine with the moves their team had made. Joe told me if the deal had gone down early enough that he’d had pick 13, he’d have taken Chance Warmack. That reaction both legitimized my decision to not re-do the draft, as it would have started a chain reaction starting with the very next pick at 14, and it made a lot of sense. As the Jets work toward improving the weapons they have to surround M...

Revis and Bucs calling secondary the “no fly zone”

The Buccaneers did not have a selection in the first round of the draft Thursday night but that did not stop the team from hosting their annual draft day party for the fans.  The party featured several Buccaneers players in attendance, including the introduction of the two major offseason acquisitions, Dashon Goldson and Darrelle Revis. Both received a warm welcome by the fans in...

Darrelle Revis trade: Everyone wins

The deal that seemed to take forever, actually works out as a win-win for all involved – even the fans.  The Jets are now satisfied with the two picks they would receive from the Buccaneers, giving New York the...

Saban doesn’t like the Dee Milliner and Darrelle Revis comparisons

Nick Saban isn’t a man with much patience for the media. He comes from the Bill Belichick coaching tree, so that isn’t overly surprising. The Alabama coach didn’t take kindly to the media prodding him with questions and statements after cornerback Dee Milliner was selected 9th overall by the New York Jets in Thursday night’s first round of the NFL Draft. Most of them were...

Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin didn't like the Darrelle Revis trade

Personally, I didn't know that "Game of Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin was such a huge fan of of the New York Jets but it appears that he is. Recently, Martin posted on his Live Journal blog regarding the New York Jets trading Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two draft picks. Let's just say that Martin didn't hold anything back about...

2013 NFL Draft: Can we get started already?

Tonight is finally the start of the 2013 NFL Draft. Personally, I have to say this day could not have gotten here any faster. We are all that much more closer to the start of the NFL regular season (131 days) but I don’t think I could have endured another couple of weeks of the rumor mill. The trade of New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wore on me. The...
