Mark Setterstrom is a solid guard. Â He is probably a borderline NFL starter. Â However, we do not know how well of starter he could be, because he spends so much time on the sidelines with injuries. Â He could potentially lose another whole season to injury this year after tearing his triceps in OTAs this week. Â The only way he will not lose the entire season is if he opts to let the muscle heal on its own rather than have surgery.
If surgery would end his season, I am not a doctor, but I would have a hard time believing that he would be able to come back very soon.  Additionally, he would be a high risk to re injure himself during the season if he doesn’t have the triceps surgically repaired.
This is bad news for Mark Setterstrom, who can only be just as frustrated with this development as we are.
