He became the first quarterback to throw for 20 touchdowns and lead his team to eight or more wins while becoming the only non-first round QB to start all 16 games and lead his team into the playoffs since the schedule went from 14 to 16 games in 1978.
Other notes on Dalton’s rookie year:
* Ended up being one of four Bengals to go to the Pro Bowl.

Do the Bengals Really Need a Safety?
As free agency nears and the draft approaches, there is continued speculation about who the Bengals will acquire at guard, running back, cornerback, and safety. Cincinnati Bengals: Who Should Be Their Top Free Agent or Draft Day Target?
The Bengals emerged as a huge sleeper in 2011. They stumbled their way in to the playoffs with some help from other teams and a 9-7 record. They had a very young and talented offense led by rookies Andy Dalton and A.J. Green. Cedric Benson showed he had some fuel left in the tank, rushing for 1,067 yards and six scores. Their defense, even though they lost all pro corner Jonathon...

Keeping Their Own
Free agency can be a frustrating time for WhoDey fans because the Bengals are almost never in the hunt for the top free agents every year. They are oriented around re-signing the guys that they have, who know the system, and generally shun the flashy, high-priced names that get most of the attention in free [...]

What’s even more remarkable is that these guys were...
