No other way to say this, folks. The Indianapolis Colts' defense got embarrassed today.
Arian Foster made it look easy in much the same manner Jacksonville used to run through the Colts when the Jaguars had success. It was nothing fancy. The second-year back goes off for 231 yards and 3 TDs. I was impressed by how the Texans came out in the second half and just got nasty. They rolled up the sleeves and pounded away with Foster. When the Colts couldn't stop him, the Texans just kept doing it.
It's the old adage we've heard so often from coaches: Run it until they prove they can stop it. And the Colts couldn't.
I didn't notice the Colts LBs consistently in position to make stops. The cutback runs were a problem, but just hat-on-hat, Foster had plenty of room to run regardless.
S Bob Sanders departed toward the end of the first quarter with another elbow injury? Can we really say this was a surprise? But even a healthy Sanders wouldn't have prevented so ...
