Found February 10, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Joseph Person of  the Charlotte Observer offers up some potential targets for the Panthers in both the free agent market and the draft. It should be noted that the Panthers are in a tough position regarding their salary cap, as they’re currently $15 million over that figure. A number of roster moves are expected in the coming weeks, so they’ll most likely have to shop for value in free agency. Chris Canty Canty, 30, was recently released by the Giants after they were forced to make some tough calls to remain cap compliant. Person notes that Panthers new GM Dave Gettleman is from the Giants and Canty went to school in Charlotte, so there could be some interest between the two sides. Carolina obviously needs help at defensive tackle and Canty was a serviceable player for New York next season. Depending on how things go in free agency, Canty could be had for a reasonable sum of money. Kenny Phillips Phillips, 26, is another player that Gettleman is more than familiar with. He missed ni...

Report: Panthers expected to release Chris Gamble

According to the Charlotte Observer, Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman is expected to release cornerback Chris Gamble to free up $7.9 million of cap space. You also have to wonder if Gettleman will look to get rid of either DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart, with all of the money tied up in both running backs. The Panthers have a lot of tough decisions to make this offseason...

Panthers given NFL’s toughest schedule in 2013

Hey Superman, make sure you bring your cape because the Carolina Panthers have their work cut out for them in 2013. At this point in the early stages of the 2013 NFL season one can sit and speculate wins and loses, but we know nothing yet. Free agency, the 2013 NFL draft, preseason, and we still may no nothing. Regardless, Cam Newton, Steve Smith and the Carolina Panthers are starting...

Panthers Could Part With Some Big Names In The Next Few Weeks

The Carolina Panthers are currently sitting close to $15 million over the salary cap, so it’s safe to assume that roster moves will be coming for this team. Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer takes a look at a number of players that fall into the cap casualty category. Chris Gamble League sources have informed Person that CB Chris Gamble is likely to be cut loose given that...

Chris Canty met with the Titans, scheduled to visit the Chiefs

According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today Sports, former Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty met with the Titans over the weekend and is now scheduled to meet with the Chiefs. Canty is a versatile player that can play in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense.  I honestly believe he’s a better fit in a 4-3 as a defensive tackle than a 3-4 defensive end.
