Like I said in the preliminary recap, this win didn't mean anything more than another tick in the left column, really. But the feeling of beating the Patriots, in the way we did it, was worth savoring, if only briefly. With everyone picking against the Steelers and in favor of the Patriots offense, it certainly was gratifying to remind them that oh, by the way, the Steelers are legit. Oh yeah, and don't look now, but at 6-2, the Steelers currently own the best record in the AFC. Yes, the reality is there's a much bigger game just a few days away. And yes, no one should get too hung up on a Week 8 win when there are eight more games to be won (or lost, as the case may be). But one more time...
There, now that it's out of our systems, we can officially open the book on Ravens week. And since we're already two days out from Sunday, and I've mentioned the general significance of the upcoming game a couple of times already in those two days, I'm ju...

James Farrior Could Miss More Time With Torn Calf
Ed Bouchette reported this morning that inside linebacker James Farrior could be out until December with a torn calf. Farrior was inactive yesterday against the Patriots, so Larry Foote started in his place and Stevenson Sylvester started along side him in the Steelers base defense. Farrior injured his calf against the Cardinals. In addition to Farrior, outside linebacker LaMarr...

Video: Antonio Brown’s Awkward But Funny Touchdown Dance
You may remember Pittsburgh Steelers second year receiver Antonio Brown from the pre-season, when he unveiled a hilarious touchdown dance after a spectacular catch (see here). LaMarr Woodley Likely Out a While
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley’s hamstring injury is not looking good according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Woodley could potentially miss an extended amount of time, which wouldn’t be good with all of the injuries the Steelers already have at the linebacker position. Right now it looks like rookie Chris Carter will replace [...]
James Harrison says he won't play this week
Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro outside linebacker James Harrison said he won't play Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering an orbital fracture earlier this season against the Houston Texans.
"Saw the doctor today," Harrison wrote. "Looks like I won't be playing this weekend but at least I'm cleared for practice."
When did Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger become a dinker and dunker? … and links!
If I had to sum up the Patriots defensive game plan, it was to try to make Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger to force the deep ball. They often doubled speed receivers like Mike Wallace and Emmanuel Sanders, essentially taking away the deep ball. Pittsburgh had just two plays longer than 20 yards in the 25-17 win over the Pats.
And, history shoes, Roethlisberger will still try to get...

Film Breakdown Shows Tom Brady Was Thrown Off By Steelers' Man Coverage, Disguised Blitz Schemes
The Steelers broke out a new game plan to stop Tom Brady and the Patriots' offense, and they executed it as well as any defense has against New England in quite some time. It was so effective that the Patriots are going to have to prove they can defeat similar schemes in the coming weeks because Pittsburgh's defensive looks will surely be replicated by the Patriots' future...
