With Big Ben’s injury, the game on the road, and Baltimore performing well lately, there is not too much confidence in prediction markets that the Steelers can produce an upset. The SportsTradex.com prediction market is currently indicating that the Steelers have a 27% chance of winning the game on Sunday. The market had the Steelers at a higher chance of winning earlier this week before it was confirmed that Big Ben was definitively out this Sunday. Most oddsmakers have the Ravens as about a nine point favorite, which is roughly the same line of the Vikings-Packers game. While all of the attention has been on Big Ben’s injury and Charlie Batch’s ineffectiveness against the Browns, there are some aspects of the Steelers game that the trading market may not appreciate. Troy Polamalu and Antonio Brown will be back; two players that can make big plays and turn the game in favor of the Steelers.

Charlie Batch Can Relish Win Over Ravens

If you saw the moment immediately after Shaun Suisham’s field goal attempt sailed through the uprights to give Pittsburgh a huge win over Baltimore then you know what I’m talking about. Franchise quarterback Ben Roethlisberger shared an embrace with his back-up Charlie Batch for what seemed like hours. Amongst the heap of towels and stocking caps and winter coats, the two men...

Would A Win Sunday Against The Ravens Be The Biggest Ever For Charlie Batch?

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was officially ruled out on the Friday injury report so that means that veteran Charlie Batch will be asked to do the unthinkable and beat the 9-2 Baltimore Ravens Sunday in their own backyard of M&T Stadium. How big of task is it? The Ravens have won their last 16 games at home for starters and Batch has not beaten the Ravens...

Steelers’ “Young Money Crew” Needs a Credit Check

I find it almost humorous how quickly articles can change in my mind through the course of a Pittsburgh Steelers’ football game. There were so many things to be critical of as the game wore on yesterday as the Steelers seemed headed for a third straight loss. Despite the fact they won yesterday, I can’t sit here today and wax poetically about everything I saw. In my mind, Mike...

Deck stacked against Steelers, how will they respond?

Round 2 of the best rivalry in the entire NFL kicks off today at 4:25pm as our Steelers and the hated Baltimore Ravens take to the field of battle at M&T Bank Stadium. We’ve been saying since the Steelers were sitting at 2-3 that every game was a must win game. The margin for error was small then, it’s even smaller now but that window is still open even if our team should...

AFC North: Charlie Batch Leads Monster Steelers Win Over Ravens

Charlie Batch won his biggest game in more than a decade on Sunday and just like that, the Steelers are back in the divisional title picture.

Charlie Batch hits sound guy's microphone with bad pass (Video)

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch hit a microphone held by a sound guy in the back of the end zone while overthrowing receiver Mike Wallace during Sunday's NFL game against the Baltimore Ravens. Batch either made a terrible throw or displayed incredible accuracy, depending on your point of view on this play. H/T OTB. Visit us at http://holdoutsports.com...

Ed Reed Was Talking Trash About Charlie Batch After Losing To Charlie Batch

Look, by no means do I know everything there is to know about football, but even I know one of the cardinal rules of the sport is “if your team just lost a game to Charlie Batch, you should probably just shut the f*ck up until further notice.” Apparently Ed Reed is unaware of this bedrock principle of the game he’s spent a lifetime playing. When [Bernard] Pollard was asked...

Batch leads Steelers to last-second win at Baltimore

BALTIMORE -- Charlie Batch turns 38 on Wednesday, but the Pittsburgh Steelers' third-string quarterback looked ageless Sunday. Batch turned in a top-notch performance to help Pittsburgh defeat the Baltimore Ravens 23-20 at M&T Bank Stadium. A week after throwing three interceptions in a loss to the Cleveland Browns, Batch completed 25 of 36 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown...

Patriots Gain No. 2 Seed in AFC With Steelers Win Over Ravens

Who knew that Charlie Batch would wind up a savior in New England on Sunday. The Steelers’ third-string quarterback helped lead his team past the Ravens — despite some accuracy issues — which helped the Patriots vault into the No. 2 seed in the AFC. At 9-3, the Patriots, Ravens and Broncos are all tied in the AFC standings, but the tiebreakers currently work in New England’s...

LeBeau Says Polamalu Could Be Limited Snap Wise If He Plays Against The Ravens

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has practiced fully the last two days and appears to remain on track to play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau did warn on Thursday, however, that just because the all-everything safety might be back, doesn't necessarily mean that he will be on the field every play after being out since Week 5 with...

Steelers rally to snap losing skid

Ben Roethlisberger couldn't have done it any better. Third-string quarterback Charlie Batch directed a 61-yard drive in the closing minutes, and Shaun Suisham kicked a 42-yard field goal as time expired to give the Pittsburgh Steelers a 23-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Playing without the injured Roethlisberger for a third straight week, the Steelers turned...

Ravens head to the locker room with the lead

On their final drive of the half, the Steelers got within seven points of the Ravens, but it could have been worse. On an offsides penalty by Haloti Ngata, quarterback Charlie Batch threw the ball to Mike Wallace. However, Wallace dropped the ball. Later that drive, Wallace was wide open, but Batch overthrew his receiver. Pittsburgh settled for a field goal and the Ravens have a...

Prediction Saturday: Ravens go for 16th straight home win

The Ravens will meet the Steelers for the second time in three weeks. The Steelers will be without high profile players Ben Roethlisberger and LaMarr Woodley, but get back safety Troy Polamalu. Two weeks ago, the Ravens defeated Pittsburgh 13-10 at Heinz Field. I expect the same result, but a different score this time. The Ravens haven’t lost a home game since Week 13 of the 2010...
