Packers Injuries: Bishop’s season “in jeopardy”
Packers CB Davon House
The right leg injury Desmond Bishop suffered against the San Diego Chargers did not look good. And according to Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, it isn’t good.
Bishop suffered a right knee sprain, but it’s a severe hamstring tear that could sideline him for the entire 2012 season. After Saturday night’s practice, McCarthy acknowledged the impact of losing...
What Is Cedric Benson’s Fantasy Value?
As this is being written, the Packers appear very close to signing Cedric Benson, even though nothing has been made official. But Green Bay suddenly appears to be in need of a healthy back, particularly if he is an upgrade over the current options on the roster.
Until very recently, it appeared that James Starks would be employed as the team’s feature back, especially...

From 90 to 53: how the Packers might get there
I wish, Packer fans, that I had the insights that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Packers beat writer par excellence, Bob McGinn, brings to the table. I wish I had his job. Heck, I just wish I got paid to write about the Packers, period. But alas...such is not the case.Still, we can be thankful that McGinn shares his rich expertise with us. Today, he serves up an early "what...
Wells brings needed versatility to Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Reggie Wells almost joined the Packers in 2006. Six years later, the now-31-year-old offensive lineman is no longer in his prime but will help with an area of Green Bay's roster that has been thinned out due to several injuries. "I came in some years ago when I was a restricted free agent and really enjoyed my trip," Wells said Saturday inside the...
Packers CB House out with shoulder injury
Green Bay Packers second-year cornerback Davon House is out two to three weeks with a separated left shoulder, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Sunday. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said House will rehab the shoulder before deciding whether he can return to the field or need surgery. House was in line to start at one of the starting spots before the injury happened during a...
James Starks Hindered By Turf Toe
Green Bay halfback back James Starks is suffering from turf toe and his status is considered "week-to-week."Fantasy Spin:Second-stringer Brandon Saine is out with a hamstring injury and Alex Green has been dealing with knee issues, so right now the Packers are looking pretty banged up at running back. All of that is good news for Cedric Benson, who signed with the Packers...
No. 6 shines at Packers season opener
Chanting Green Bay Packer fans could be heard throughout Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday, even over the booing of the home crowd. Packers didn’t have a running back that could handle the blitz
AP Photo
One of the most important skills that an NFL running back must learn is how to pass protect and pick up the blitz in order to keep their quarterback upright.
The reason the Green Bay Packers ended up having to sign free agent Cedric Benson is because it became clear to them that James Starks wasn’t going to give them much more in terms of on the field production and he...
