Preseason Preview: Seahawks at Broncos
(Note: Mike and I will both be indisposed for this game, me because of work and him because he forgot to pack a television and a couple miles of coax and extension cord for his camping trip. I’ve got my VCR set to record (yes, VCRs still exist), but the usual after-game notes post will be delayed until I can sit down and watch it. Until then, feel free to chime in below with your observations.)
There’s a very good chance that the quarterback competition will end tonight. Last week, both Matt Flynn and Russell Wilson lived up to their billing, Flynn as the calm, decisive West Coast passer, and Wilson as the flashy young highlight reel in the making. Pete Carroll might not come out and say it, but a strong showing from them versus Denver will likely secure their spots at the top of the depth chart, with Flynn being the favorite to win top honors. Wilson still has an opportunity this preseason to earn the starting job this preseason, but he...

The Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll have done everything but be predictable and the quarterback battle is no different. In 2010, the Seahawks not only made the playoffs at 7-9, but stunned the defending champion New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. Then they drafted Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter in the first round [...]
The Seattle Seahawks decided this past offseason that they had a wide receiving corps that was not exactly up to the standards of the rest of the National Football League. Not even if the watered down NFC West. Seattle went forward and cut Mike Williams, who had been one of their better receivers a couple of seasons ago. That left them with Ben Obomanu and Deon Butler atop the team’s...
Terrell Owens isn’t guaranteed a rooster spot with the Seahawks, the way T.O. played against the Broncos he could be almost guaranteed not to make the team. Owens went 0 for 5 when it came to catching the ball. The Seahawks must have thought they were getting the T.O. that knew how to go up and grab the football, those days seem to be gone from Terrell Owens repertoire. The Seahawks...
Receiver Terrell Owens did not perform well in his Seahawks debut Saturday. According to the Seattle Times, Owens was targeted five times but failed to catch a single pass.Fantasy Spin:Owens dropped a perfectly thrown ball that would have been a 46-yard touchdown. According to Jason LaCanfora, team sources said Owens is hardly assured of making the roster, though we think he'...
According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, wide receiver Terrell Owens hasn’t been guaranteed a spot on the Seahawks’ finals 53-man roster.
“The other former superstar trying to rekindle the past, Seahawks receiver Terrell Owens, had considerably less success. He’s hardly assured of making this roster, according to team sources, and while quarterback Matt Flynn...
Seahawks win second preseason game of the year
NFL.com Highlights >
The Seattle Seahawks made it 2-0 this preseason, with a decisive 30-10 win, but the victory didn’t come without some bumps. The defense kept the team in it until the offense got on track.
Without further ado, your week two game balls!

The Seattle Seahawks were in action Saturday night in Week 2 on NFL preseason action as they took to thin air of Denver and collided with Peyton Manning...
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning didn’t have the night he wanted at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Manning threw the ball 23 times and completed 16 of those passes. It wasn’t the in-completions that bothered the 4 time league M.V.P., it was the 2 interceptions that got to Manning. Although it is only preseason and the game doesn’t count for anything, Manning is too...
Seahawks Broncos Storylines
Games against the old division rivals of the AFC West are always a lot of fun, preseason or not.
For the most part, I still harbor hatred for the teams that the Seahawks left behind when they rejoined the NFC for the 2002 season.
Though it has been a decade since the realignment, the lack of competition in the NFC West has left an empty feeling inside...
According to ESPN’s John Clayton via Evan Silva of Rotoworld.com, quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is expected to be either traded or released by the Seahawks by the time the preseason is over.
“Most likely he (Jackson) will be released or traded after the 4th preseason game,” said Clayton, via Silva.
The great thing about the NFL is that there are so many positions that every year, there is almost always at least one player who has a breakout year on every team, no matter how good or bad the team is. This is one part in a 32 part segment detailing one potential breakout player for the 2012 NFL season on each NFL team. For the Seattle Seahawks, that player is quarterback Matt...
Every season RDM obsesses on the NFL team win total over/unders. It’s one of the more fun bets in all of sports. A single well-placed bet turns an otherwise random team into a must see weekly event. Today we look at the 2012 Seattle Seahawks.
The number: 6.5
At present, you get -320 odds if you bet the over. Conversely, the odds are set at +240 if you bet the under. In general...
