The Jets will tangle with the Rams tonight. It will mark the first game coached for two rookie head coaches in Rex Ryan and Steve Spagnolo. Both men are defensive gurus, so expect a low scoring game. The starting QB for the Jets will be Kellen Clemens. Expect rookie Mark Sanchez to get some first half reps as well early. The offensive line is a bit banged up. At yesterday's practice at Hofstra, they were without Damien Woody, Alan Faneca and Nick Mangold, so expect those men to sit out tonight. This likely will result in less playing time for both QB's and as a result, we will likely see more of Eric Ainge tonight. I expect to see a lot of the running game for the Jets tonight. I'm talking about Thomas Jones with loads of Leon Washington early, followed by a whopping portion of Shonn Greene and Danny Woodhead late. There will be plenty of Jehuu Caulrick inside as well I am sure later in the game. Tonight is the time when young players have the opportunity to step up and make an impact. The caches are not overly concerned with the outcome of the game as much as they are assesing talent. I would love to see a guy make a name for himself tonight and separate himself from the cast offs. Aside from Spagnolo making his return, this also marks the return to the Meadowlands of Rams Assistant Coach Dick Curl. A few of you may remember he was our "Time Management" coach under Herman Edwards. I don't know who was worse, him or Paul Hackett in those days, but you gotta love his name.
