Oakland coach Dennis Allen started Terrelle Pryor at quarterback Sunday at Indianapolis. Allen tried to keep his decision a secret right up until game time. But the move was hardly a surprise. All week, the speculation was that Pryor would get the nod over Matt Flynn, who has a sore elbow on his throwing arm. The thought also was that with Pryor being more mobile, that would work to the Raiders' advantage behind an inexperienced offensive line. Third-string quarterback Matt McGloin is inactive for the game. --- AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org

Pryor has nothing to hold his head low about, but it is good to see that he cares. It is ok to get a little emotional, but just remember it is just 1 game after 15. Considering what Pryor has been through in his young career, this is understandable. Pryor played well, he just needs to keep improving and stay in the film room. He is a bright spot on the Raiders. Al Davis haunts Raiders with Terrelle Pryor

It was a wasted supplemental draft pick, one of crazy Al Davis’ last hurrah’s. Right? Instead, it seems the third-round pick used to select former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor will live on forever and may haunt the Oakland Raiders, but in a good way. Terrelle Pryor and the Raiders were supposed to be the laughing stock of the NFL. Nothing more than a joke – predicted...

Terrelle Pryor puts up big numbers

No one had any idea how Terrelle Pryor would play in the Raiders opener against the Colts today. The good news for Oakland is that Pryor played well and put them in position to win, but they ended up losing a close game. Pryor completed 19 of 29 passes for 217 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.  He also ran for 112 yards on 13 carries. Even though the Raiders lost,  you have...

A total of Nine black quarterbacks will start week 1

We all know the game is changing. It is becoming a position of speed and agilty rather than just a gun slinger mentality at the quarterback position. Well this week in the NFL a total of 9 black quarterbacks will start. Here is a list: EJ Manuel – Bills Colin Kaepernick – Niners Russell Wilson […]

Terrelle Pryor: I played ‘awful’ in Week 1

Terrelle Pryor played much better than most people anticipated coming into week 1 against the Colts. He had 217 yards passing with one TD and 2 INTs but added 112 yards rushing which is the most in the NFL over the weekend. For him though, that wasn’t good enough: “I could’ve helped win the game and didn’t,” Pryor said via CSNBayArea.com. “We had ‘em on the ropes and...

Why is the bar so low for Terrelle Pryor?

Everyone doubts Terrelle Pryor can help the Raiders this season, and I think a lot of people have happily gone along with this assessment, because haha, the Raiders, amirite? Pryor won the starting job from Matt Flynn this preseason, but around the league, he hasn’t received many plaudits and hasn’t mustered much confidence. But why? What’s the reason nobody thinks Pryor is...

Terrelle Pryor takes out one of the chain gang diving for first down

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor showed exactly why he won the starting job during his debut against the Indianapolis Colts.  Pryor finished 19/29 for 217 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions while adding 112 yards on the ground on 13 carries.  During this run he dove for the first down and leveled this old man that was a part of the chain gang on the sidelines...

Pryor's miscues cost Raiders in 21-17 loss at Indy

Terrelle Pryor threw for 217 yards, one touchdown and broke a franchise record Sunday. That wasn't good enough for Oakland's new quarterback. After watching Andrew Luck scramble 19 yards for the go-ahead score with 5:20 to go, Pryor made two costly mistakes on the Raiders' final series. Oakland wound up losing 21-17 at Indianapolis. ''I'm disappointed in...

QB Pryor should start for Raiders

The Oakland Raiders got one of their two biggest offensive playmakers back at practice. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor returned to practice Wednesday and was working with the first team after missing last week's game with a concussion, while running back Darren McFadden is still sidelined by a hamstring injury that prevented him from finishing last week's game. The Raiders...

Pryor wants to repay Al Davis

Terrelle Pryor may have finally arrived. Yes Pryor still struggles to read defenses, and makes most of his plays with his legs, but Pryor is a long way from the guy he was when he was banished by Ohio State, and selected in the supplemental draft. Pryor has come a long way and has Al Davis to thank.  According to Peter King and TheMMQB, Pryor says “he owes Davis, and wants to...

Oakland Raiders at Indianapolis Colts: Three Bold Predictions

This is a game that could get real ugly real fast, or it could be one of those surprises for the start of the NFL season.I am not sure yet where I stand on it, but it’s football and it’s Sunday and, well, two former greats of the 1970s beating on each other cannot be that bad. But, oh yes it can be.Enter the world of Andrew Luck. The second-year player who did everything asked...

Dreaming of Streaming: Week 2

Let’s start with this: six of Week’1 top 10 fantasy defenses were owned in less than 20 percent of Yahoo! Leagues. Let that wash over you. And while you’re at it, throw that inconvenient fact in the faces of anyone who insists their seventh round selection of the Seattle Seahawks defense was the correct one. Team Ownership % Week 1 points Rank Kansas City Chiefs 6 31 1...
