The Cleveland Browns reportedly tried to trade quarterback Colt McCoy during the draft, it didn't work, so the team kept him on the roster throughout the offseason. Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com writes Friday: "When Weeden was drafted, I was told by an NFL source that the Browns didnt want to 'pile on' McCoy and just release him. They were sensitive to the fact he had gotten such a raw deal already." Mike Holmgren talked about that "raw deal" on Thursday. "I think (Colt's) a wonderful young man, and a good football player," Holmgren said. "And if you are asking me to say was it fair last year? He had a tough go and he didnt get as much help as I thought he was going to get. But heck, thats football. Translation: Thanks for trying. It wasn't enough. Seneca Wallace can't imagine there being enough room for him and McCoy on the roster, Wallace knows things, Holmgren is likely to look for a way out for McCoy. "They would like to find McCoy a new team, a new opportunity, to spare him the ignominy of being released. They will not demand much in a trade," Grossi writes. A conditional late-round pick would probably get it done. We'd be on that happening, the Browns are trying to do McCoy a favor, but it doesn't do the 2012 Browns much of a favor to have this story drag out through August.

Colt McCoy's brother rips Browns
Colt McCoy's brother, Case McCoy, took to his Twitter account to rip the Browns for trading Colt. The only problem is the Browns haven't traded Colt.
Case McCoy tweets to support his brother, but isn’t really helping
Colt McCoy can’t seem to catch a break. Thrown to the wolves by a lame duck head coach as a 3rd round rookie, the following year he taught himself a new offense because his rookie head coach was without training camps, he nearly gets killed playing behind a mess of an offensive and his reward was to watch the Browns draft Brandon Weeden.
So the writing is on the wall for Colt and...
Colt McCoy’s brother rips Browns after falling for fake trade report
Case McCoy, the brother of Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, ripped his brother’s team on Twitter Friday in response to a fake trade rumor.
Case, who is a quarterback at the University of Texas, apparently had been duped by a fake ESPN Twitter account that said his brother had been traded to the Eagles. He sent the following tweet, which has since been deleted:

Colt McCoy Destined to Career Backup Role, Making Cleveland Browns Wise to Move On
Colt McCoy doesn't even remember the hit. On December 9, 2011, James Harrison delivered a blow to McCoy's head that effectively ended his time as a starting quarterback in the NFL. McCoy stumbled in and out of the Week 14 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers but didn't start another game for the rest of the season. And now, he may not start another game in the NFL for...
Whoops! Colt McCoy’s brother spouts off about Browns after being duped by fake Twitter account
Admit it, you have seen a few Tweets from @AdarnSchefter or @rnortreport and thought they were the real deal. The font on Twitter can be deceiving at times. Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy was announced to have been traded yesterday by a fake ESPN Twitter account, and it duped his younger brother, Case. This led [...]
2012 NFL Trade Rumors: Colt McCoy to Back Up Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay?
Colt McCoy was necessarily bad last season with the Cleveland Browns. With the team’s receiving corps horrendous and with little-to-no support on the offensive line (excluding Joe Thomas), McCoy didn’t do so bad. However, the Browns decided it was the right move to draft Brandon Weeden to be the team’s new quarterback.
However, is McCoy willing to backup? It doesn’t seem...
Browns Colt McCoy, quarterback or singer?
Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy has been center stage for numerous sports writers due to the quarterback competition in Cleveland and of course rumors of him being on the trading block. Although the pressure of trying to prove to the Browns front office that you are "still the guy" when it comes to filling the starting position must be taking it's toll, McCoy...

Browns won’t ask much for Colt McCoy
With Brandon Weeden impressing in offseason practices, speculation has picked up once again about the Browns possibly trading Colt McCoy. The Browns tried to move McCoy on draft day, after using a 1st round pick on Brandon Weeden, but could not find a suitor. According to ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi, the Browns are not only interested in moving McCoy, but won’t ask much in return...
Colt McCoy sings onstage with Brad Paisley
It’s official, Colt McCoy sings like he plays quarterback!
Brad Paisley recently performed in Ohio and pulled Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy onstage to help him sing “I’m Still a Guy“. The “starting” quarterbacks performance was shaky at best and it seems like he may still be suffering from concussion side effects due to this hit delivered by James Harrison...
Browns keeping McCoy, Wallace for now
Browns president Mike Holmgren says there are no plans ''right now'' to move either quarterback Colt McCoy or Seneca Wallace before training camp.
One of the two QBs will be rookie Brandon Weeden's backup. Weeden is expected to start this season after the Browns drafted the 28-year-old in the first round. Earlier this week, Wallace said he didn't think all...

The Top Quarterback Battles
It might not be the sexiest pick of the litter, but the Quarterback battle I’m interested in seeing the most is with the Cleveland Browns and their battle between Colt McCoy(for now), Brandon Weeden and Seneca Wallace. After drafting Weeden with the 22nd pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, word around the league was that the Browns would be shopping McCoy. It looks like they’re going...
