Less than a week after being signed as a free agent, QB Drew Stanton received his wish on Friday, being traded from the New York Jets. Stanton had been a member of the Detr0it Lions before becoming a free agent in March this year. Stanton was brought into to New York in order to backup QB Mark Sanchez. However, once the Jets traded for Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow, Stanton requested a trade out of New York. Stanton was traded to the Indianapolis Colts. According to media reports, the Colts have acquired Stanton from the New York Jets and a seventh-round draft pick. The two teams will swap sixth-round choices in the upcoming draft. It’s likely that Stanton would not have had many playing opportunities with the Jets after they acquired Tebow, but it’s not likely that his chances of cracking the starting lineup are not going to be greatly increased with the Indianapolis Colts this season either.
