The St. Louis Rams knew at the end of the 2012 season that they needed to surround QB Sam Bradford with some weapons if they expected their young signal caller to go to the next level. TE Jared Cook was one of their free agent targets. A big (6'5, 248) and athletic pass catcher who has just started to become a threat, but the Rams think his upside is considerable. Bradford and Jared Cook are connecting regularly at Rams camp, and Cook is expected to serve as Bradford's security blanket this season. Cook's role is basically the same as the departed Danny Amendola as the team's primary slot receiver. With Bradford's accuracy, he can put the ball in tight spots and they are working really well together. Cook is poised to set career highs across the board in 2013. "I’m definitely excited about the potential of this offense and the things that we’re capable of doing," Bradford said, via Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Dispatch. "Obviously we have a lot of speed and a lot of playmakers. "I think the greatest thing as a quarterback is I can trust my reads and trust my progressions, and know that wherever I go with the ball we’ll have a playmaker and someone who’s able to make the play once the ball’s in his hand." "I think you saw today my trust with Jared," Bradford said. "I’ve got all the trust in the world that if I put the ball up there he’s gonna go get it. And I think every time I step out on the field that comfort level grows."
