Many fans have directed their concerns at the Ravens’ wide receivers and offensive line. But keep an eye on their tight ends. The Ravens seem set on their top two tight ends, even though both have something to prove. Todd Heap is trying to rebound from a disappointing season. L.J. Smith, who knows about his injury-prone label, has been sidelined for offseason camps and most of this year’s training camp because of a sports hernia injury and hamstring problems. The big question is the depth at tight end. With the release of Quinn Sypniewski (who didn’t recover from knee surgery), the Ravens’ backups are Davon Drew (a rookie who has battled injuries); Edgar Jones (who is a converted linebacker); and Isaac Smolko (who has been on three teams’ practice squads). The Ravens might need to upgrade with another veteran -- perhaps when final cuts are made around the league -- to solidify depth here.
