Quick Hits: Burns' Day Off, Young Ready for Week 1, Injuries + More
USA TODAY Sports

If Calvin Throckmorton will play multiple spots

"He's got position flex, which is one of the good things about him. So, absolutely."

Burns not practicing

"It was a personal matter. It's impossible for me to have more respect than I do for Brian, so that's his personal matter. And secondly, that's a matter of policy. That's not my role to talk about contracts even if that's what it was."

If Bryce Young is ready for Week 1

"It's one of those healthy tensions like he's as ready as he can be, but he's got to go out and do it. And I think he understands that. First of all, his physical preparation has put him in a good position for the week and I just think his mental disposition...he just gives us the best chance. There's no guarantees of anything. We know we're going on the road playing a division opponent, those games are intense. So, there's nothing like jumping right in the fire."

If winning the NFC South is in reach

"That's every team's goal. It's certainly our goal. Once we hit this week, my focus goes to get better every day. We set our goals in the offseason, we know what they are. Now, it's week by week. The great thing that every coach and player loves when you get to this time of the year is just the routine of it. Every week we have a new game and what you did the previous week or what you're going to do the next week, it really doesn't matter. You just got to put all your focus and attention on this next game. That's the best approach in order to reach those kind of goals."

If Terrace Marshall Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., and DJ Chark will be ready for Week 1

"It'd be nice if they all were. I think they're making good progress. They'll continue to get treatment through the weekend and then we'll get to Monday and start to reassess the situation. I think it's too early to tell for sure. I like the progress they're making though."
