Visanthe Shiancoe seems to realize that fans don’t want to hear comments about players being modern day slaves, and that they certainly don’t want to hear about the tiny bits of progress that may or may not be happening in the labor negotiations. Fans also don’t want to hear cheap shots flying back and forth from the two sides.
So, in a recent interview with 1500 ESPN, Shiancoe cut right to the chase.
“We can literally die when we’re out there on the field.”
Shiancoe clearly makes one of the best points players have on their side, and this drum happens to be one worth beating.
“You guys have seen a couple guys get paralyzed and broken this, broken that. The injury rate is up there in the NFL — 100 percent injury rate for whoever plays in the NFL. End of discussion. It’s no ifs, ands or buts about it.”
