With DMC and Mike Goodson out for week 10 the duties will be up to Taiwan Jones and Marcel Reece against the Ravens.
Taiwan Jones will be the ‘starter’, which can be nothing more than ceremonial at times. The Raiders have really failed to run the ball effectively this season and they may not change even against a Ravens team that has been run over during the last month. The problem with Jones has been ball security and missed assignments.
You can hope for that he breaks off a long run or two with his speed, its hard to imagine him getting a huge workload as the Raiders will most likely be playing from behind. One thing is for certain, he’s fast.
Carson Palmer: “He does amazing things in practice, he’s by far the fastest person on the field and he will be fastest person on the field on Sunday,” Palmer said. “Not that you want to see guys get banged up, but I’m excited about the opportunity he’s getting.
“He’ll get his touches and I can’t wait. He’s so electrifying. He puts his foot in the ground and goes. He wiggles out of hits, he wiggles out of tackles. I can’t wait to throw him the ball, get him in the open field.”
Marcel Reece is a physical specimen that might be one of the fastest 255lb guys in the NFL. He fast and a great receiver that will be used on passing downs this week. He caught 8 passes for 95/1 last week, but we haven’t seen what he can do running the ball in the regular season.
He has flashed running the ball in preseason though and is a low end RB2 in PPR leagues this week. Some have considered him a West Coast Aaron Hernandez.
“I feel comfortable doing anything in this offense,” Reece said. “They’ve prepared me a long time ago to do anything in this offense and I’m prepared to do it. Whatever happens on Sunday, whatever they ask me to do I’m going to go do it.”

Raiders second-year running back Taiwan Jones took first team reps during Wednesday’s practice, per Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com.
“He’s been a little up and down,” Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said of Jones, via Gutierrez. “A little injury-prone, or injury-plagued, and so it’s been kind of tough to evaluate because he’s missed some time. But we’ve got confidence...
This week the Oakland Raiders head to Baltimore to face the Ravens. From the outside looking in, this would seem to be an automatic win for the Ravens who havent lost a game in Baltimore since a 13-10 loss to Pittsburgh December 5th 2010. Sitting at 6-2 Baltimore boasts the second best record in the AFC and Oakland at 3-5 is two games out of [...]
Raiders running back Taiwan Jones picked up the first-team reps at running back Wednesday with Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson sidelined with ankle sprains. He does amazing things in practice and he's by far the fastest...
With their top two running backs both plagued by high ankle sprains, the Raiders will need someone to depend on against the Ravens on Sunday. If Marcel Reece can prove to be reliable, he could have the breakout performance he’s been hinting at for the past three years.
Reece is finally set to have a major role in Oakland’s offense with Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson likely...
Raiders back Marcel Reece got the majority of the backfield work Sunday against the Ravens, rushing for 48 yards on 13 carries and catching seven passes for 56 yards.Fantasy Spin:Meanwhile, Taiwan Jones was a nonfactor even before Oakland fell behind big. Reece is the Raiders back to own while Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson are out with high ankle sprains, especially in PPR leagues.
Injured running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson have been placed on the inactive list by the Oakland Raiders for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
McFadden and Goodson rank 1-2 on the team's rushing list. Both have sprained right ankles, leaving Taiwan Jones - who has one carry for 2 yards this year - as the likely starter.
Oakland also put defensive tackle...
Oakland Raiders running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson were expected to sit out practice yesterday, but defensive lineman Richard
Seymour was also sidelined due to a hamstring issue, reports Paul Gutierrez of
"After getting some
treatment Monday and Tuesday, we felt like holding (Seymour) out of practice
today," said coach Dennis Allen. "...
What a heartbreaking loss for the Raider Nation. The Oakland Raiders were able to score 22 points in the fourth quarter, including 15 unanswered, to be one field-goal away from tying the scoreboard on what would have been an incredible comeback. Unfortunately, the 35 points scored by the Buccaneers in the second half ended up being too much to overcome [...]
The Oakland Raiders will be without RB’s Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.
Both players missed practice on Friday because of high-ankle sprains, so Taiwan Jones figures to see large workload with Marcel Reece being mixed in throughout the game. McFadden’s injury isn’t believed to be too severe, so there’s at least a chance that he...
According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson, as well as defensive end Richard Seymour will not play this week.
“You don’t ever know exactly how someone is going to respond to an injury,” said Raiders head coach Dennis Allen. “Obviously, none of them make enough progress this week that they were able to be up. We’ll...
Oakland Raiders running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson and defensive lineman Richard Seymour were ruled out of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, NFL.com reported Friday. McFadden and Goodson have high ankle sprains and Seymour has knee and hamstring injuries. Running back Taiwan Jones and fullback Marcel Reece will carry the load for Oakland. Desmond Bryant...
The Ravens return home after a month to take on the Raiders. Last Sunday, the Ravens squeaked out a win over the Browns and the Raiders lost a shootout to the Buccaneers in Oakland.
However, during their loss Sunday, the Raiders lost two running backs to ankle injuries. The running backs are star Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson. That stems the running game for Oakland and will help...
