We are now six weeks into the season and it is hard to believe that former Jaguars quarterback David Garrard still does not have a job. He has already turned down a few opportunities to sign with teams this season, but the new situation in Oakland may be too attractive for Garrard to turn down. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Raiders have already had contact with Garrard about signing after they lost their quarterback Jason Campbell to a season-ending collarbone injury on Sunday. Unlike the Dolphins, who Garrard turned down a few weeks ago, the Raiders are currently 4-2 and have the talent to make a serious push for a playoff berth in 2011. You could argue that there would be a very minimal drop off in skill from Campbell to Garrard. If the Raiders do not make a move at quarterback this week, the job would fall to Kyle Boller or rookie Terrelle Pryor.
