Oakland cornerback Pat Lee is no stranger to coming off the bench in emergency situations.
He did it in the Super Bowl two years ago while with Green Bay, helping the Packers secondary hold on after injuries put Charles Woodson and Sam Shields on the sidelines.
Now he's being asked to do the same for the Raiders - albeit on a significantly smaller stage.
Starter Ron Bartell is out indefinitely after suffering a fractured scapula in Oakland's season-opening loss to San Diego, leaving Lee to take over for the Raiders' Week 2 game in Miami. The fifth-year veteran has made only one other start in his career but that was as a nickel back.

The Oakland Raiders injury situation continues to grow. Starting cornerback Ron Bartell suffered a fracture to the scapula in his shoulder. Wide receiver Jacoby Ford, who missed the season opener, had successful surgery on his Lisfranc injury today. Ford suffered the same injury last year to the same foot and will be out an extended period of time.
“He’s obviously out for...
When the Oakland Raiders started their offseason activities everyone believed Stefen Wisniewski would win the starting job because he started all 16 games last season at guard. The plan was to shift Wisniewski inside to center after the team signed Mike Brisiel to start at right guard. An offseason shoulder surgery followed by a calf injury early in preseason has halted Wisniewski...
The Oakland Raiders moved swiftly to answer three burning questions with one big answer.
Even with a young receiving core that is inexperienced and banged up, the Raiders have no interest in the big 3 of elder wide receivers.
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie told San Francisco Chronicle that he’ll pass.
“It’s not just (their) age,” McKenzie said. “If...
Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore has practiced this week and is expected to make his season debut at Miami on Sunday with a limited number of plays. Moore has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury Aug. 4, and the team held him out of the season opener. With Jacoby Ford potentially headed for injured reserve due to foot surgery, Derek Hagan was signed last week and...
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By JOSH DUBOW AP Sports Writer The high-risk, high-reward passes that characterized Carson Palmer's first half-season as Oakland Raiders quarterback were absent in the season opener.
Instead of taking chances for big plays down the field in the passing game, Palmer mostly chose the safer route of dumpoffs to running back Darren...
As a whole, the Oakland Raiders played a very sloppy game against San Diego. The sloppy play resulted in a 14-22 loss on Monday night. While there was a lot of poor play against the Chargers, some players did their part and really helped the Raiders out. Preventing this game from becoming a complete blowout [...]

A Contra Costa Times report is calling injured Raiders receiver Denarius Moore "a lock" to play Sunday versus the Dolphins.Fantasy Spin:Moore skipped Monday night's game because of an injured hamstring. His presence reduces the values of fellow Oakland wideouts Darrius Heyward-Bey and Rod Streater.

The offense was horrendous, putrid and every other hanus word that is in the dictionary.Yes, I stated that in my recent power rankings, and it should be stated that Darren McFadden hauled in 13 passes in the home loss.
Carson Palmer was abysmal although the number won’t state such, but it didn’t help matters that their top targets were inactive.
