The Oakland Raiders released high-priced cornerback Stanford Routt on Thursday.
The move came just a year after the Raiders signed Routt to a five-year, $54.5 million contract.
Oakland is expected to overhaul its roster following the hires of coach Dennis Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie.
Routt, 28, made a career-high four interceptions last season - his seventh with the Raiders.
