The Oakland Raiders have selected defensive lineman Chris Bilukidi with their sixth-round pick of the NFL draft. The Raiders took Bilukidi 189th overall with their fourth pick of the day Saturday. Bilukidi is the son of an Angolan diplomat and was mostly a basketball player until his final year of high school in Canada. He started his college career at Eastern Arizona and finished his career at Georgia State. He had 10 sacks and 16 tackles for loss in two seasons there. The Raiders previously took San Diego State linebacker Miles Burris with a compensatory pick at the end of the fourth round, and Penn State defensive end Jack Crawford and Arizona receiver Juvon Criner in the fifth round.

Marcel Reece, Tyvon Branch still haven’t signed their tenders

Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie confirmed on Sunday that both fullback Marcel Reece and safety Tyvon Branch have yet to sign their tenders, according to Paul Gutierrez of CSNCalifornia.com. Raiders RB Darren McFadden Set To Be A One-Man Rushing Attack

By ignoring the RB position in the draft, it looks like the Raiders are set with their depth at running back. Darren McFadden is the clear-cut No. 1 back, and it wouldn’t surprise observers if he saw a large majority of snaps, given his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and block, if necessary. Having been unable to re-sign Michael Bush in free agency, the team will...

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Matt Leinart will visit the Oakland Raiders and is likely to sign with them next week. Just donate, baby!

The idea of community involvement and the Oakland Raiders usually ends at the organization looking for money from taxpayers to build them a new stadium.  Which is why the announcement that the Raiders are donating money to Oakland public schools is somewhat surprising, but yet incredibly awesome. Quiet Round 1 for AFC West; only Chiefs and Chargers pick

The first round of the 2012 NFL Draft saw 8 trades, some surprise names, and as always, a couple of reaches. The AFC West was involved in some of the action, but more via trades than actual picks.  The Oakland Raiders never had a first round pick to begin with and the Denver Broncos made [...]
