According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, the Oakland Raiders plan on expanding back up quarterback Terrelle Pryor’s role for this week’s game against the Panthers.
Second-year quarterback Terrelle Pryor will be used on some third-down and red-zone plays against the Panthers so that the Raiders “can create a different look the defense to contend with” and “try to use some of his athletic ability.”
I think the Raiders should allow Pryor to play an entire game. It’s not like they’re fighting for a playoff spot.

Raiders to experiment with a new punter
And by punter, we mean arm-punter. The Oakland Raiders are so bad, that they are willing to give Terrelle Pryor “meaningful” snaps. When the 2012 season began, who would have thought that Pryor would be in a better position for taking snaps in Week 15 than Tim Tebow? But by every indication from the Raiders’ [...]
Raiders plan to give QB Pryor playing time Sunday
Oakland Raiders backup quarterback Terrelle Pryor will get significant playing time on Sunday, offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said Thursday. Knapp said the second-year quarterback from Ohio State, who got in for three plays last week, will play on third downs and more against the Carolina Panthers. "Maybe in the red zone – try and create a different look for the defense...
Pryor helps Raiders prepare for Panthers' Newton
How can the Oakland Raiders, a team with defensive difficulties against both the run and pass, possibly prepare for Cam Newton? "We've got the closest guy to him right here in Terrelle Pryor," running back Mike Goodson said. Added Raiders coach Dennis Allen: "He does have some of the same skill set." Pryor has been running read-option plays during practice...
Dennis Allen won’t let his team accept a loser’s mentality: “Losing is a habit”
Dennis Allen has gone through a lot this season, on and off the field. He understands that there are things bigger than football, and that if you accept losing in life, your football team won’t be very good either.
In Allen’s personal life, the passing of his father must have left a huge void, but he’s never missed a game and expects his player to be as mentally tough.

Carter having fun despite Raiders rough season
Though the Oakland Raiders were long ago eliminated from playoff contention, Andre Carter is relishing the final few weeks of the season as if it were a championship run.
Just over a year after sustaining a quadriceps injury that could have ended his career, the 33-year-old defensive end thinks he's almost all the way back to the form that earned him his first Pro Bowl selection...
Mike Goodson is getting into a groove in time to face former team
When Mike Goodson was in Carolina, he had to share a crowded backfield with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.
He wanted a better opportunity because Carolina had committed so much money to the above two, there was no way he would see the field while they were healthy. However, when the two went down in 2010 Goodson gained 452 yards and 3 touchdowns with a 4.4 average.
Goodson...

Raiders RB Goodson eage to face former team
Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson is looking forward to playing in Carolina for the first time since being traded by the Panthers in the offseason.
He just doesn't know what type of reception to expect.
Goodson spent his first three NFL seasons with Carolina, still owns property there and routinely talks to some of his former teammates. Even Panthers coach Ron Rivera...

Raiders hope to become consistent with another win
The longest losing streak since an 11-game run in 2006 and 2007 is over, with the Oakland Raiders beating the Kansas City Chiefs 15-0 and having only one thing on their minds. Winning again. The Raiders are 4-10, with dreams of their first winning season tossed overboard three games ago. The re-adjusted goal of a third consecutive 8-8 season quickly followed, buried in an avalanche...
Sebastian Janikowski = Vanderjacked
In the kicking world there is only one Big Polish Boot and since 2000 he has owned the Bay Area!
On Sunday Sebas went nuts for the Raiders. He kicked 5 field goals in a 15-0 win over the woeful Chiefs. His day included 2 from over 50 yards! He is having a huge year for a bad team but unlike the MVP voting, Straitpinkie doesn’t care! The drunken idiot is in the running for the...

The Raiders shut out the Chiefs last week and still are tied for the league’s worst scoring defense. Aside from a weird win over the Steelers week 3, the Raiders wins have all come against the Chiefs (twice) and the Jaguars, who are the league’s worst teams right...
Raiders use the force, shut down Chiefs
It's a beautiful thing when our team wins, eh Nation?
Time and time again, we have not seen our Oakland Raider scheme execute in a manner we would like it to. Week after week, we wonder what type of players we have on our team; pondering which players should stay and which players should leave the facility as quickly as the Falcon clears Space.
So, it is kind...
Oakland Raiders at Carolina Panthers: Week 16 NFL Pick
Oakland Raiders (4-10) at Carolina Panthers (5-9)
One of my favorite trends is the six and six trend, which says that teams who finish with 6 wins or fewer are 23-64 ATS since 2002 as favorites of 6 or more. So far this year, teams that are currently 5-9 or worse are 2-5 ATS as favorites of 6 or more this season. The Eagles failed to cover week 1 as 8.5 point favorites in Cleveland...
