Despite all of the criticscm the Oakland Raider have received this offseason, head coach Dennis Allen really likes his team. “I know there’s a lot of experts out there that might think differently,” Allen said, via the Contra Costa Times, “but I like this football team.” Allen is looking forward to seeing what his guys can do in training camp. “I like this football team,” Allen said again. “I like the players on this team and I’m excited to see what they can do once they get into training camp.” Allen does admit that have a lot of work to do going forward. “I’ve been pleased with the work that these guys have put in and, obviously, we’re not the finished product. We’ve still got a lot of improvement to do, but I wouldn’t say that’s any different than any of the other 31 teams. But I like their mentality, and I like the way that they work.” I’m glad Allen likes his team.  I would have been really concerned if he said he hates them. Need NFL Tickets? The post Raiders h

State of the Nation: A Look at the Oakland Raiders’ Quarterback Situation

Coming off a disastrous season in which pretty much every player played terribly it came as a mild surprise that the Oakland Raiders got rid of Carson Palmer. Although the perennial loser Palmer once again led an NFL team into the gutter, he was one of the top performing players on the Raiders. General manager Reggie McKenzie decided to pull the plug on the Palmer era because Palmer...

Dennis Allen feels good about his team’s offseason: ‘I like this football team’

Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen doesn’t want to hear what the experts are saying about his team. The Raiders wrapped up their three day minicamp and Allen thinks the team has worked hard and made a lot of progress. There’s only so much a coach can find out with ‘football in shorts,’ but it sets the depth chart for training camp. He also got a clear idea of what each...

State of the Nation: A Look at the Oakland Raiders’ Running Backs

Over the last few five seasons, the Oakland Raiders could always count on a strong running game even when the rest of the team was falling apart. With the Darren McFadden and Michael Bush thunder-and-lightning duo carrying the ball opposing defenses were constantly on their heels. However last off-season the Raiders once vaunted running game fell apart with the departure of Michael...

Raiders' Menelik Watson enjoying his NFL rookie experience

The Oakland Raiders 42nd pick overall in the 2013 Draft, offensive tackle Menelik Watson is feeling good about his time so far learning the ropes in the big boy's league. Watson, born in the U.K., was originally a basketball player, who only started playing football in 2011 when it became apparent that he just was too short to play power forward. He transferred to Saddleback...

Raiders sign 3rd rounder Sio Moore

The Oakland Raiders announced today that they’ve signed rookie third round pick, linebacker Sio Moore. Moore (6-1, 240), a linebacker out of Connecticut, was selected 66th overall by the Raiders in April. He played in 41 games with 31 starts at UConn, and garnered first-team All-Big East Conference honors twice during his collegiate career. As a senior, Moore ranked fourth on...

Sebastian Janikowski believes he can play 7 or 8 more years

Sebastian Janikowski has long been one of the NFL’s best and most consistent kickers. Janikowski is at the age of 35 and still believes he has many years to go, in fact he believes he has 7-8 more years left in him. “I would love to stay here and finish my career,” he said. “This is where I started and where I would like to finish. I can go seven or eight years. If I stay...

Oakland Raiders have a diamond on there roster named Deonte Williams

Deonte Williams never shies away from contact.  It is official this might be one of the most exciting running backs I was able to scout this year.  He is a compact runner who rushed for 1500 yds, 12 TDs, 6.5 yards per carry.  He reminds me a lot of Marshawn Lynch who will lay the boom stick down, if you get in his way.  Deonte is not afraid of contact, and he has the speed to...

Oakland Raiders Tight End David Ausberry Is Poised For A Breakout Season

With the departure of Brandon Myers in free agency, one of the Oakland Raiders four tight ends must step up this season. While the Raiders added two promising tight ends Mychal Rivera and Nick Kasa in the draft, veteran David Ausberry looks like he will be the starter on week one. The 6’4 245 pound Ausberry was a seldom used wide receiver at USC but his big body and 4.48 40...

The Oakland Raiders Should Not Sign Willis McGahee

Now that the hated Denver Broncos have released pro-bowl running back Willis McGahee, football pundits have put the Oakland Raiders as a prime destination for the veteran running back. In theory, McGahee would be a perfect complement to oft-injured running back Darren McFadden. McGahee would be a huge upgrade over penciled in number-two running back Rashad Jennings. There are two...

Talks Between The Falcons & DL Richard Seymour Appear To Be Dead

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports confirms that free agent DL Richard Seymour and the Atlanta Falcons are nowhere close to reaching an agreement and it appears as though talks between the two sides are dead. “I thank them for their efforts,” Seymour explained to La Canfora. The Falcons have reportedly been in contact with Seymour for a number of weeks now, but Seymour’s asking...
