Raiders defensive tackle Tommy Kelly thinks there are some obvious reasons for Kevin Kolb's struggles with the Cardinals, including the quarterback's overall demeanor and mindset.
"He is skittish. He is scared back there," Kelly told reporters of Kolb following Oakland's 31-27 loss to Arizona on Friday. "Any time anybody gets close to him, he starts looking at the refs. As a defensive lineman, you love a quarterback like that. He ain't even trying to look at the routes no more. He is paying attention to us, and you ain't going to get nothing done like that."
Kolb finished 3 of 6 for 22 yards in Friday's game while getting sacked three times. John Skelton, meanwhile, completed all three passes he threw for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Fortunately for Kolb, Kelly's opinion isn't the one that counts. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said he wasn't ready to make a quarterback decision after the game.
