Although the Oakland Raiders got the victory on Thursday Night Football, San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Matthews had something to celebrate after the game. Watch as Matthews absolutely destroys Oakland's Tyvon Branch with this bone-shattering block:
The Raiders had an awakening last week against the Chargers. Of course the Chargers have been the NFL's version of an espresso shot lately. But there is something to be said for taking the opportunities presented and creating a few opportunities of one's own. The Raiders did a lot of both on Thursday when they beat the Chargers 24-17 on their "home" field.
Police say a 25-year-old man was stabbed during a fight in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium after the Oakland Raiders' victory over the San Diego Chargers.
San Diego police officer David Stafford says two men started fighting Thursday night after the game and it doesn't appear the fight had anything to do with a sports rivalry.

Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes and Michael Bush ran 30 times for a season-high 157 yards and one touchdown to lead the Oakland Raiders to a 24-17 win over San Diego on Thursday night, the Chargers' fourth straight loss.
PFT: It may not have been the greatest trade in football history, but Oakland’s acquisition of quarterback Carson Palmer should win the Raiders the AFC West. Thursday night's win over San Diego proved that.
Former Cincinnati Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe has been cut by the Oakland Raiders. They replaced him on the roster by promoting safety Jerome Boyd from the practice squad. The former seventh-round draft pick from Notre Dame recorded 60 tackles and one interception last season in 10 starts for the Bengals. For his career, Ndukwe, 26, has registered 257 tackles, 7 1/2 sacks, 18...
Raiders 24 - Chargers 17Last night's game was a tough challenge that the Raiders passed with flying colors. The key to a successful night was the Raiders dominating both sides of the line of scrimmage and staying true to their formula for success. I appreciate and admire the 2011 team's resiliency. After a heart crushing 2nd half collapse to the Bills, the team responded...
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jacoby Ford (foot) left Thursday's game against the San Diego Chargers with a sprained foot injury. How long Ford will be out and the severity of the injury is not yet known. Ford made a 41-yard reception on the play and got mixed up with Chargers cornerback Dante Hughes. Ford appeared to land a bit awkwardly on his left foot and was unable to return...

ALAMEDA Carson Palmer completed deep balls as if he were Daryle "The Mad Bomber" Lamonica. Michael Bush bowled over defenders on his way to a career night. Kamerion Wimbley and a physical defensive line overpowered a banged-up San Diego offensive line.
Maybe Carson Palmer is the answer in Oakland. Palmer completed 14-of-20 passes for 299 yards as the Raiders took over first in the AFC West with a 24-17 victory over the Chargers.

Why Watch Because Nebraska at Penn State is not on until Saturday. Raiders at Chargers is your best shot at witnessing how a team overcomes disaster until then. The scandal at Penn State is rather more serious and we do not make light of it. Nittany Lions players will...
