According to the Associated Press via the Washington Post, Oakland Raiders linebacker Kaluka Maiava and his brother were charged with assaulting two men at a bar in Hawaii in March.
The incident happened four days after the Raiders signed him to a three-year, $6 million deal.
The brothers were charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal property damage on March 17, causing bodily harm during a fight at a bar.
The Washington Post reports:
‘After reviewing police reports and other evidence, prosecutors decided to go forward with criminal charges. Maiava, of Wailuku, and his brother, who lives on Oahu, were not arrested. Each was served with a summons on July 2 when prosecutors learned they would be on the island. The brothers are scheduled to be arraigned in Wailuku District Court on July 25, when they’re expected to enter pleas.’
