Found August 20, 2013 on Minus Twenty-Two:
Coming into this Raiders training camp, the expectation was that Denarius Moore would assume the top receiver role and be the leader that the coaches, his teammates and fans would like him to be. Instead, there has just been more of the same inconsistency that’s plagued him in his two years as a pro. So, as is all the rage with Raiders offensive players the last couple days, somebody called him out on it. And that person is offensive coordinator Greg Olson: Well a lot of it is going to be on Denarius. To me, it’s that whole character issue, becoming a self-starter, becoming a self-motivated person, and a lot of that comes with maturity. I think he’d be the first guy to say we’re constantly on top of him and it’s hard to give someone like that any base, so we just coach him up, but I think he’s becoming a more mature player and more mature person, so I think that’s going to help as well. A lot of players will tell you, if they’re fortunate enough to stay in the league for any length ...

Oakland Raiders OC Calls Out Denarius Moore

With a change at the quarterback position and the departure of Darrius Heyward-Bey to Indianapolis, many around the league expected Oakland Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore to assume a bigger role and be the true #1 option. Coming off a season in which he caught 7 touchdowns with 741 yards, it seemed only  natural for the young wideout to continue to improve. Not everyone has...

The best camp battle has to be in Oakland, the battle of the PUNTERS

The Oakland Raiders let long tenured punter Shane Lechler leave, without really extending an offer to him.  They let him leave because they had a kid on the injured reserve from last year named Marquette King.  Marquette is a big kid, that looks like a wide receiver.  King is a guy you would not want […]

Terrelle Pryor: Take A Flier

Very few fantasy relevant storylines fly below the radar this time of year.  Those “sleepers” that you’ve known about for months have made their way into the mainstream with big preseason performances. Every semi-competitive owner in your league is aware of the latest injury news, and which players stand to benefit most as a result.  To unearth a true sleeper this close to...

Terrelle Pryor switching jersey number to dubious No. 2

Terrelle Pryor has switched his jersey number to No. 2 for the Raiders, and to explain this curious change, one can only assume that Pryor falls into one of the following categories: 1. He is not superstitious. 2. He is crazy. Either way, Pryor, who had been No. 6 the last two years, is still associating himself with some rather dubious and unflattering company by embracing the...

Why the Raiders failed to convert 4th & inches versus the Saints

One of the pivotal plays in the Saints first-teams drubbing the Raiders top players was Oakland’s inability to convert a first down on 4th & inches. I was curious what had happened in this play as it was such a poor display of how to run the football and the results surprised me. I had initially thought that the offensive line had no push and had allowed multiple defenders...

Stewart-Haas Racing may be dynasty

Three Bad Boys and a Little Lady? How about the Oakland Raiders of NASCAR? Whatever moniker is concocted for Stewart-Haas Racing should Kurt Busch accept the team's pending offer, it's certain that in no time you'll be calling the organization "winners". Stewart-Haas Racing has the potential to be only the second organization with two Sprint Cup champions...

Raiders sign Tony Hills to help offensive line

Let me just start by saying the Raiders offensive line is awful, especially with Jared Veldheer out for at least eight games, and nothing they can do this close to the season, aside from convincing the league to legalize holding, will be able to improve it. That said, welcome to the team, Tony Hills! The Raiders needed to bolster their corps of tackles and signed Hills to a contract...

Keys to the Game for Raiders vs Bears, Pre-season week 3

The Raiders face the Chicago Bears in week 3 of the 2013 Pre-season. Here are some of the top keys for the Raiders to feel like the week was a success, no matter the final score: 1. O-line improvement: The offensive line has been just that, offensive, for the first two weeks of the pre-season. The Raiders haven’t been able to run nor has pass protection been in any way reassuring...

Ex- Rams GM, Billy Devaney, doesn't think too much of the Raiders' Alex Barron

Once upon a time, Billy Devaney was the general manager of the St. Louis Rams. The team compiled a 10-38 record during his tenure (2008-2011) and because of that performance he was fired. Devaney is now one of the contributors on ESPN's NFL Insiders show. Earlier today on the show Devaney explained that he didn't think much of Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Alex Barron...
