The Raiders suspended Jerry Porter for four games without pay for "conduct detrimental to the team." Porter was Oakland's leading receiver last season, but he was sidelined for the first four games this season after butting heads with new coach Art Shell. Porter has made it very public that he wants to be traded to another team, but it seems like that may not happen before Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled on offense, and losing Porter sure isn't helping. What is surprising is that Oakland actually has talent, but they can't seem to gel enough to take advantage of their strengths. Plus, it seems as if Shell's coaching methods aren't working. Generally when a new coach is brought in the team at least plays with some fire, but these Raiders seem to just go through the motions. If this persists the Raiders may be in the market for a new coach...again.
