Raiders receiver practices without pain

Associated Press  |  Last updated November 25, 2011
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey is practicing without pain, five days after injuring his neck and spine and suffering a concussion while being tackled by Minnesota linebacker E.J. Henderson. Heyward-Bey, the Raiders' leading receiver this season, has run patterns and caught passes from quarterback Carson Palmer during a light non-contact drill and also has taken part in some team drills Friday. That was slightly more than he did a day earlier when he worked out for the first time since the injury. That's an encouraging sign for Oakland, which was down to only two healthy receivers on its 53-man roster earlier in the week. Now coach Hue Jackson's team is almost back to full strength.
