Steve Corkran reports that the Oakland Raiders have restructured the contract of S Tyvon Branch. Branch, 26, had a base salary of $6 million for the 2013 season. The Raiders have lowered that figure to $715,000. Typically, teams pay out the difference in a bonus that’s prorated over the remainder of the player’s contract. This provides cap relief in the time being. Branch signed a four-year deal worth $26.6 million that contained $17.6 million guaranteed last year.   The post Raiders Restructure Tyvon Branch’s Contract appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Carson Palmer just about done in Oakland?

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network feels like there’s a good chance Carson Palmer will decline a pay cut and force the Raiders to release him.  He would then be able to go to a team of his choice. A more likely scenario in my mind is that Palmer sees the writing on the wall, would decline to take a pay cut, and join a mostly dormant free-agent market as the biggest name on it. The Raiders could...

According to Steve Corkran, the safety’s base salary in 2013 will drop from $6 million to $715,000. To compensate, the Raiders...

Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins set to meet with Raiders

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Cullen Jenkins is set to visit the Raiders today. Jenkins has been making the rounds visiting Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Giants. Schefter writes: ‘The 32-year-old clearly has something to offer a good team (there has been Packers speculation as well), but the Raiders aren’t as close to being good as...

Raiders Could Be Getting Closer To Releasing QB Carson Palmer

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com believes there’s a good chance that the Raiders will part ways with QB Carson Palmer if he’s unwilling to take a pay cut in the next few days. Palmer, 33, is set to make a base salary of $13 million next season and with plenty already being made about the Raiders’ terrible financial situation, there appears to be a chance that they could move forward...

Raiders Jacoby Ford on the road back from a foot injury: "I plan to do the whole nine yards this year, catch, return kickoffs and return punts"

Jacoby Ford is a very fast man, matter of fact at the 2010 NFL Combine, he clocked a 4.28 40. Ford was drafted by the Raiders in Round 4 with the 108th pick overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. Ford has flashed big play potential, but injuries have kept the potent speedster sidelined. A foot injury Ford suffered in November of 2011 forced the receiver to have surgery, and he re-injured...

Draft Zone Spotlight: Ty Powell, LB, Harding University

Draft Zone Spotlight: Ty Powell, LB, Harding University Ty Powell has one of the best motors I have ever watched on the football field. I had the pleasure to watch him since last year, because I was following Harding’s kicker Eddy Carmona who had a short stint with the Oakland Raiders.  Powell was a former safety from De Anza College and lit up the JUCO level.  He had a chance...
