The Oakland Raiders have signed recently released cornerback Joselio Hanson to bolster their secondary.
Oakland released 2011 third-round pick DeMarcus Van **** on Monday to make room for Hanson on the roster. Hanson had been released last week by Philadelphia after spending six seasons as the Eagles nickel cornerback.
The Raiders have now cut ties to both cornerbacks they drafted in 2011. They released fourth-rounder Chimdi Chekwa on Friday and then added him back to the practice squad.
In fact, all six cornerbacks on the Raiders roster this season are new to the organization as part of a major overhaul in the secondary under new general manager Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen.
