The Oakland Raiders may be without tight end Kevin Boss for their season opener Monday against the Denver Broncos.Boss is dealing with an MCL sprain that has hampered him since Aug. 20. Coach Hue Jackson confirmed to the San Francisco Chronicle that Boss likely won't be ready for the opening week. The Raiders opted to carry four tight ends on their 53-man roster, a move which suggests Boss may not be close to returning.Boss is entering his first season in Oakland after spending his first four years with the New York Giants. The 27-year-old had 35 catches for 531 yards and five touchdowns last season.
