The Oakland Raiders announced Saturday that for a limited time they would donate 10 percent of the proceeds from every season ticket to Oakland public schools. The program, which applies to new season tickets, will make the donation from gross-ticket price purchases made in full from Tuesday through June 30. "We are thrilled to announce our newest youth and community based initiative and we are delighted to assist the Oakland Unified School District," team president Amy Trask in a statement. Oakland public schools are facing a major funding crisis that could include the layoffs of hundreds of teachers and support workers. The Raiders sold out all eight of their home games last season for the first time since returning to Oakland in 1995.

Leinart fractured his collarbone in 2011 when he came in to play in place of Matt Schaub who suffered a season ending foot injury.
3rd Round 95th Overall: Tony Bergstrom, G/T, Utah The Raiders have a solid O-Line, but Cooper Carlisle is aging and will need to be replaced somewhat soon. Bergstrom can come in and immediately compete with Carlisle for the Left Guard job, and he can compete with Barksdale at Right Tackle. Bergstrom is versatile O-Lineman that [...]
The idea of community involvement and the Oakland Raiders usually ends at the organization looking for money from taxpayers to build them a new stadium. Which is why the announcement that the Raiders are donating money to Oakland public schools is somewhat surprising, but yet incredibly awesome. The new initiative will donate 10% of new [...]
