The Oakland Raiders had their eyes on a mid-round quarterback in last April's draft, and it wasn't Tyler Wilson. According to Len Pasquarelli of the National Football Post, the team was all set to "jump on" USC's Matt Barkley. As we know, the Philadelphia Eagles swooped in and took him away, and their 'fallback option,' Tyler Wilson came aboard. With Matt Flynn the presumed starter this year for Oakland, it seemed for a moment that Wilson, highly regarded as not just any rookie, could supplant Flynn as the starter, but things have certainly cooled down in Oakland, and there's no more talk of Flynn suffering deju vu all over again. Seems Wilson was practicing just like any rookie QB, and Flynn looks to be the man as previously thought. Gregg Rosenthal recently described the Raiders QBs' offseason as a "sliding scale of awfulness." Meanwhile in Philly, Matt Barkley looks to be the odd man out behind Michael Vick and Nick Foles. Who knows what situation he'd be in if he was selected
