Pro Sports Daily:
Through Friday morning, two choices from last weekend's draft, wide receivers Alshon Jeffery (Chicago) and Stephen Hill (New York Jets), already had signed their initial NFL contracts. Both players are second-rounders, but that is coincidental only, and rookie signings in general likely will be much quicker this year. This is the second year of the new CBA and the rookie wage scale means there is very little wiggle room for agents to negotiate -- indeed, top overall selection Andrew Luck probably get a deal with the exact same signing bonus ($14.518 million) as Cam Newton, the first pick in 2011 -- and so there isn't much reason to wait. That Jeffery was the first player in the league to agree to terms from among the 253 players chosen in the draft shouldn't be too surprising. Bears' senior director of football administration Cliff Stein, a onetime agent who has worked both sides of the bargaining table, annually is among the first in the league to have his ...

NEW YORK—The Jets showed their love for WR Stephen Hill by getting their second round pick under contract quickly.
His four year $5 million dollar deal may not sound like blockbuster numbers, but that is thanks to the rookie salary cap.
With $2.8 million dollars guaranteed, Hill has plenty of reasons to get on the field and make a difference immediately.
He shot up the boards...
The idea of a full-grown male walking a purse-sized dog in public was once thought as completely unmanly.
Not anymore, people.
The infamous Jay Cutler was seen flipping the bird to the press while walking his dog, giving hope and expressing solidarity with men who have small dogs everywhere.
Just look at Cutler’s perfect dog-walking apparel. He’s got the wind-resistant shirt...
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler flipped off a photographer as he took his dog for a walk.
The big guy either doesn’t want to be photographed walking a little dog or he’s simply reacting to a perceived invasion of privacy on a public sidewalk.
Cutler and fiancé Kristin Cavallari haven’t exactly been enjoying their celebrity status this week.
They’re not happy that...
Geez, no wonder why even Bears fans hate you Jay. Walking around in sloppy pants, Fruit of the Loom T-shirts, and well I won’t comment on the dog since for some it provides you a small sense of sensitivity I guess, just flipping everyone off in sight. That’s a nice look for a franchise QB. We up here in WI love you bud, you just keep making it easy to hate da Bears. ...
In a recent article by Pro Football Weekly, an anonymous NFL scout lays into Chicago’s top two selections: DE Shea McClellin in the first round and WR Alshon Jeffery in the second.
Seeking to alleviate a crowded secondary situation, the Chicago Bears waived safety Winston Venable. Entering his second season, Venable appeared in 12 games during his rookie season in 2011 and ranked tied for fifth on the team with 10 special teams tackles. The Boise State product made the squad as an undrafted free agent last season and demonstrated big-time striking [...]
Everybody that has ever played or coached Bears first-round pick Shea McClellin knows one thing about him: he's a winner. We also discuss Alshon Jeffery, Evan Rodriguez and more.
I was recently asked to provide some insight into the legend that is Tim Tebow. Alan Schechter of The JET Press wanted to know what I thought of Tebow as an NFL quarterback. As a fan of the New York Jets – Tebow’s new team (Seriously, you didn’t know that? Sheesh!) – Alan wanted to know what a Florida Gators fan thought of the former orange and blue star and his prospects...
Just days after the 2012 NFL Draft concluded, the Chicago Bears inked second-round pick, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, to a four-year deal. Jeffery is the first draft choice in this year’s class to agree to terms. Bears General Manager Phil Emery has proven to be an aggressive executive in his initial months on the job. He identified Jeffery as a [...]
Just as NFL teams are assembling top-notch talent to compete in the upcoming season, so too are their cheerleading squads. We take you to the New York Jets Flight Crew auditions where athletic and attractive women came from near and far to grab a spot on the team. The Jets even had some cosplay action with girls dressing up as Barbie and naughty schoolgirl. Let’s get to these fantastic...

Bears sign Alshon Jeffery to four-year deal - Stein's goal is to have all draft picks signed by May 14. Should be good weather for golf by then.
NFC North holes to fill - Lions' secondary, Bears' O-line troubling. Somewhere, Marcus Harrison fills his cakehole again.
