On vacation in Turks & Caicos earlier this month Rob Ryan received a phone call from Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett informing the team's defensive coordinator that he would no longer be employed by the club.
While talking to reporters after receiving the news, Ryan boasted that he'd find another job in five minutes. After returning from vacation, reports surfaced that Ryan would likely join the St. Louis Rams as the team's new defensive coordinator.
According to the Rams' official Twitter account, the team has decided that Ryan is no longer their best choice.
A tweet Tuesday morning posted to the account said, "After extensive conversations regarding defensive philosophy, the Rams and Rob Ryan agreed he was not the right fit for the DC position."
Ryan, who was considered the leading candidate for the Rams' d-coordinator position, spent two seasons with the Cowboys.
