Excuse me while I mix sports metaphors in the title of this post, but the Rams players patience grows thin as the practices feel longer. No longer fresh from the offseason and each player sporting his fair share of bumps and bruises, the Rams had three count’em three kerfluffles at today’s training camp practice. The showdowns were:
Chris Long v. Jason Smith – Number 2 overall selections battle.
Gary Gibson went two rounds. First Gibson v. Hank Fraley in the trenches.
Then Gibson v. Franchise back Steven Jackson.
The Rams have many reasons to be frustrated after a 3-13, then 2-14 and then 1-15 seasons and a disappointing performance against the Minnesota Vikings in their opening preseason game. The Rams will quickly need to get out of training camp so they can focus on hitting another team more often than they are hitting themselves.
