The St. Louis Rams took care of getting their coveted rookie wide receiver Tavon Austin in the fold and ready for training camp, the team announced Thrusday. No terms of the contract have been releases, but Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the contract includes no offset language. So far, Austin has been winning over his teammates and coaches alike with his quick speed and athleticism. "He is the real deal, man," cornerback Cortland Finnegan remarked. Per Marc Sessler of NFL.com: ' The Rams used the draft's eighth overall pick on Austin, the pass-catching, ball-carrying, kick-returning triple-threat who gives St. Louis an X-factor they've lacked entirely during [Sam] Bradford's three-year run with the team... This year's rookie class produced plenty of early-round big uglies who promise to improve their new teams at the line of scrimmage. It's Austin who headlines the list of first-year playmakers. It will be fascinating to watch how the Rams use Austin, spreading him all over the formation in an attempt to help defenders league-wide discover how [punter Johnny] Hekker felt, just days ago. ' The #Rams have agreed to a contract with 1st round WR Tavon Austin, I'm told. No offset language. Business handled before summer — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 13, 2013
