The St. Louis Rams will be donning their throwback uniforms in tribute to Marshall Faulk, and contemplating a quest familiar to the beginning of his days here: taking an unknown quarterback into battle against a superior foe. To me, the linchpin of the Rams success in those years wasn't Kurt Warner, though he was obviously a catalyst; not Bruce or Holt, though they were as talented a tandem as you could ask for; the key to making that Martz hybrid of Sid Gilman's offense work was the multifaceted threat of Marshall Faulk out of the backfield. Defenses could adjust to take away the vertical threats of the wideouts, as Tampa did with their version of the Cover Two. But no defensive scheme could take Faulk out of the game plan, because he - like the Rams - could beat you in so many ways. Faulk was rewarded for his record-shattering play by being called up to Canton to have his bust enshrined in Pro Football's Hall of Fame, one of the elite few to be honored in their fir...

The St. Louis Rams have been bad in 2011 to say the least.  After the season is over I expect to the Rams to make a lot of changes starting with the coaching staff and most of the players on the current roster.  Could one of the changes be at the quarterback position?  Would the Rams actually trade Sam Bradford?  Here are 4 reasons why the Rams should consider trading Bradford...

Rams have nothing to play for but the future

ST. LOUIS Long after his team's latest loss, Kellen Clemens slouched in front of his locker and leafed through a stats packet that told a common story. On Dec. 7, the St. Louis Rams claimed the former New York Jets and Houston Texas quarterback off waivers to serve as a backup to Sam Bradford and A.J. Feeley after injuries sidelined both players. Clemens flipped through the...

Chris Long Takes Huge Strides In Rushing The Passer

After his first three seasons as a member of the St. Louis Rams, some were disappointed with the play of defensive end Chris Long. The Rams drafted Chris Long second overall out of Virginia in the 2008 NFL Draft and to some and his production coming into 2011 had just not met the standards of a second overall pick. Coming into to 2011, Long's career high in sacks was 8.5 in...

Bradford's Rams jersey receives dreaded '2-for-1' tag

Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is hurting this season ... and so are sales of his No. 8 jersey at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis this season.

Rams likely to shut Bradford down, still see him as their future

The bad news for Sam Bradford is that his ankle injury will sideline him today against the Bengals, and probably for the rest of the season, too — and he’s had a lousy season even when he’s been healthy. The good news is that the Rams still see him as their franchise quarterback. Adam Schefter…

The Bengals improve to 8-6 with two games left to play. It is also their fifth win on the road, giving them their first...
