Sam Bradford threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns and Danny Amendola caught 16 passes for 160 yards in rallying the St. Louis Rams to a 31-28 win over Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins on Sunday. The Rams made their comeback after coach Jeff Fisher benched running back Steven Jackson for drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the second quarter. Griffin led the Redskins (1-1) to a 21-6 lead, but the Rams (1-1) came back thanks to the pass-catching of Amendola. The receiver tied an NFL record 12 first-half receptions, and caught a 1-yard TD pass to cut the lead to 21-13 at the half. Bradford had second-half scoring passes of 34 yards to Brandon Gibson and 1 yard to Matt Mulligan. Griffin ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third for Washington (1-1). The Redskins got a final shot after DeAngelo Hall recovered running back Daryl Richardson's fumble at the Washington 37 with 2:40 to go. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: Washington Redskins @ St. Louis Rams 9/16/12

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: Washington Redskins: 31 St. Louis Rams: 28 The Good I am one of the harshest critics to Sam Bradford, and rightfully so thus far in his career, but I can admit when he does a good job, and this game was one of his best of his career. He was accurate, 74% of his passes for a very efficient 8.9 yards per attempt.  He made one bad read in the game, on...

All aboard the Bradford bandwagon

Week 2 started to give a better sense of what we can expect from players on our fantasy squads. Trent Richardson didn't look like he's had two knee surgeries in the last six months while the two-week performances of players like Chris Johnson have some owners worrying about their early round picks. While it's still early to panic in most cases, the matchups facing your...

What We’ve Learned After Two Weeks

Here are some things we know with two weeks of the 2012 NFL regular season in the books: Seth Perlman/AP Danny Amendola should be owned in all leagues, PPR or not. For years the rub on Danny Amendola has been that, when healthy, he is a Wes Welker-type receiver who will catch a lot of balls but will have trouble accumulating yards after the catch or reaching pay dirt. He’s been...

The Wild, Wild, NFC West: Who Will Claim the Division Crown?

The NFC West looks to be competitive this year. The division boasts two undefeated teams in Arizona and San Francisco, and two 1-1 teams in Seattle and St. Louis.Let us not forget that the Cardinals finished the season 8-8 last season and won tough games down the stretch last year that seem to have transferred over to the 2012 season. The Seahawks were a sleeper pick for many analysts...

Week 3 Fantasy Football Waiver Claims

WR Danny Amendola (St. Louis) Percent owned (ESPN): 15.7% Danny Amendola is by far Sam Bradford’s favorite target and with Bradford looking improved early in the season, expect Amendola to put up good numbers the rest of the way, until further notice. In 2 games, he’s caught 20 passes for 230 yards and a score and half been the recipient on close to half of the Rams’ receiving...

Washington Redskins Lose To St. Louis Rams: What Went Wrong?

How exactly do the Redskins plan to win more games this season? Certainly not with good defense, apparently.Sixteen catches by Danny Amendola, breaking a more than fifty year old Rams' single game record for receptions.I'm sorry, but if I'm coaching defense in a National Football League game, I'm putting two guys on Amendola, on every down, after he catches pass number...

Cruz bounces back in Week 2

Studs Sam Bradford, Rams Now there's why the Rams drafted Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick in 2010. The St. Louis signal caller connected on 26-of-35 passes yesterday for 310 yards and three scores in a 31-28 victory over Washington. Attributable to injuries and an inept offensive line, last season's flameout facilitated a disconcerting fantasy drop for Bradford this...
