The St. Louis Rams reached for running back Isaiah Pead with the No. 50 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Spin:
St. Louis should have went another way with this pick with so many holes to fill and so many strong prospects still on the board, but Pead does have the ability to be a breakaway threat in the NFL, and will fit in well as a complement to Steven Jackson. Should immediately slide into No. 2 spot on the depth chart, and Pead is worth handcuffing when you consider that Jackson turns 29 in July and has played a full 16 games in just two of his eight seasons so far.

Rams believe Isaiah Pead will be Steven Jackson’s successor
The St. Louis Rams drafted former Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead early in the third round because they believe he’ll be the guy to take over once Steven Jackson retires from football.
“This is the successor to Steven Jackson. A lot of teams really coveted Isaiah Pead,” said ESPN’s Adam Schefter per Evan Silva.
A lot of teams were interested in drafting Pead because...
Rams waive PK Brown, four others
Placekicker Josh Brown was among five players waived by the Rams, who also cut ties with tight end Demarco Cosby, defensive tackle John Henderson, cornerbacks Nate Ness and Chris Smith and running back Quinn Porter. St. Louis drafted Missouri Western kicker Greg Zuerlein in the sixth round Saturday. The Rams will save $2.7 million by cutting the 33-year-old Brown, according to...
St. Louis Rams Draft Grades
14. DT Michael Brockers B+ Somewhere Sam Bradford just retired. In all seriousness, I have no problem with the Rams trading down again. They turned the 2nd overall pick into the 14th overall pick, 2 1sts and 2 2nds. That’s not a bad haul. I probably would have just gone ahead and taken Claiborne because of the fact that there were generally 6 consensus blue chip prospects in this...
Report: Rams will monitor Janoris Jenkins daily
According to Peter King of SI.com, the St. Louis Rams plan on monitoring rookie cornerback Janoris Jenkins on a daily basis. Either general manager Les Snead or someone else will call him daily and talk to him about his life.
Jenkins, who has four children by three different women, and he’ll have to use his first NFL contract to work out his support situation.
Jenkins knows he’ll...
Chris Givens Lands in St. Louis
The St. Louis Rams added wide receiver Chris Givens at the top of the fourth round in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Spin:
Givens and second-round pick Brian Quick are projected to be the starting tandem for the WR-needy Rams, and the Wake Forest product intrigues us with his soft hands, good body control and speed. While Quick should be the preferred target in keeper leagues with the...
Rams See RB Isaiah Pead As Steven Jacksons Successor
According to ESPNs Adam Schefter, the St. Louis Rams see RB Isaiah Pead as the eventual successor to Steven Jackson. Schefter adds that a lot of teams really coveted Pead, and probably wouldnt have lasted much longer had the Rams decided to pass on him at No. 50 overall. Pead, out of Cincinnati, was one of three second-round selections by St. Louis. There was no question...
Biggest question mark in the Rams' draft: Brian Quick?
There's a common theme in early grades of the Rams' draft: taking risks on big talent with big question marks.
The media - locally and at large - has already made Janoris Jenkins the poster child of this draft and Jeff Fisher / Les Snead's risk/reward approach to adding talent. Jenkins' extensively documented rap sheet and just as extensively documented skillset...
Four Pillars be gone
On Friday, April 27, the St. Louis Rams selected North Alabama cornerback Janoris Jenkins with the 39th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Rams then picked up Montana cornerback Trumaine Johnson to start the third round. The Rams went high risk, high reward and I liked it.

I know the team took some major risks on day two of the draft, but I'm ecstatic...

Rams Plan To Check In On Rookie CB Janoris Jenkins Every Day
Cornerback Janoris Jenkins has first round talent which is indisputable but his off-field issues kept him from being a first-round pick. The St. Louis Rams took a chance on Jenkins in the second-round of the NFL Draft on Friday, Rams General Manager Les Snead told Peter King of SI.com that the luxury of having extra second round picks made it easier to take a chance on Jenkins....
2012 NFL Draft: 3 Events That Did Not Surprise
1. Rams Keep Trading
Many people I know were talking to me through text and Facebook saying "Rams move again?" I would respond with "Rams are looking to rebuild throughout their defense and some offense, not surprised" Getting players like Janoris Jenkins in the 2nd and Michael Brockers in the first, they filled some really big needs on the defensive side of the...

The St. Louis Rams have submitted plans to upgrade the Edward Jones Dome, a key step to making sure the team doesn't leave town.
