Per several Rams sources We have signed Brady Poppinga former Green Bay linebacker, he is currently watching practice.
Poppinga will be playing the strong side linebacker position for the Rams, which is usually over the tight end and responsible for stuffing the running game. Poppinga is a veteran and a solid run defender. He won’t be gifted the starting spot, but should be considered the favorite. Other challengers to Poppinga at the strong side linebacker spot are David Vobora, who has acquitted himself well in limited time at SLB and veteran Na’il Diggs, coming off an injury.
Aaron Nagler, Packers savant had this to say on Twitter about Poppinga when I asked for a report:
Non-stop motor. Crazy. Decent vs the run. Terrible in coverage. Improved moves last summer rushing the qb.
