The St. Louis Rams have signed offensive tackle Thomas Welch off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad, Tony Softli of 101 ESPN in St. Louis reports. A 2010 seventh-round pick out of Vanderbilt by the New England Patriots, Welch spent most of his first season on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. Waived by the Vikings in September, Welch joined the Patriots practice squad and was added to the active roster for the 2011 regular season opener. Though he's shuttled between New England's practice squad and active roster, the 6-foot-6, 310-pound Welch has started one of three games this season. Released by New England earlier this month, Welch joined the Bills' practice squad last week.

Will Fred Jackson Play This Weekend?

One of the biggest parts of the Bills offense is Fred Jackson, but it seems like it might be up in the air Sunday whether or not he’ll play. After sustaining what he called a leg “bruise” Sunday against Miami, Jackson insisted he’ll be fine, but...
