Rams WR Austin misses 2nd day of practice

ST. LOUIS -- Tavon Austin sat out his second straight practice on Thursday, and his availability for the St. Louis Rams' game on Sunday is in question. Despite his small stature, the wide receiver from West Virginia - who was the Rams' No. 1 pick - never missed a practice in college. Rams coach Jeff Fisher had no update on the condition of Austin, who injured his left ankle...

Saints gear up for dangerous Austin, Rams

The New Orleans Saints are set to hit the road to face the St. Louis Rams, a game which appears upon first glance to provide minimal resistance to the Saints. After consideration of the two teams, though, one comes to realize the Rams possess the capability to surprise the Saints if not given undivided respect and attention. In particular, New Orleans must be wary of St. Louis...

The real issue for the St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams are a young talented team that for some reason cannot seem to string together wins. They have a potent defensive line, an underrated line backing core, and a very raw but talented secondary. The old saying goes “defense wins championships,” but the Rams are nowhere near a championship contending team. So where does the problem lie? For a couple years many expert...

Rams backup Clemens taking hard knocks

ST. LOUIS -- Missing starting quarterback Sam Bradford, the St. Louis Rams' offense has suffered. Kellen Clemens' best quality might be durability. "Mondays are a little tougher than they were the first seven weeks of the season, but that's part of the job," Clemens said Wednesday. Clemens is set to make his seventh start as Bradford's stand-in Sunday...

Rams WR Tavon Austin misses practice due to ankle injury

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin missed practice yesterday due to his ankle injury, according to Joe Lyons of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Austin suffered the injury during his 56-yard run in the third quarter of last weekend's contest against the Arizona Cardinals.Given his absence from Wednesday's practice session, Austin is questionable to suit up against the...

Zac Stacy in position to perform well against New Orleans (Week 15 Fantasy Points Per Touch)

Zac Stacy – playing at home as a workhorse back – finds himself well positioned to succeed against a Saints team that ranks as fairly generous on a per touch basis (Photo: Reuters). New Orleans is a defense that has been softer all season on a per touch than per game basis (presently the 15th most generous on a FPPT basis, 24th FPPG), and while the unit has played better against...

Rams: Brian Quick continues to be a drag on team’s progress

As St. Louis Rams fans watched Monday Night football this week, many had to be asking themselves, “What if the Rams had drafted Alshon Jeffrey?” In the 2012 draft, the Rams chose to select Brian Quick with the team’s firsts pick in the second round, even with Jeffrey on the board. Since, Quick has struggled to find playing time and has had trouble grasping NFL offensive concepts...

Rams' Dunbar gets first crack at former team

ST. LOUIS -- Just as predictable as the sight of reporters flocking to his locker following practice on Wednesday, Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar knows that the trash talk between him and his friend Jimmy Graham is coming soon enough. Sunday's matchup in St. Louis between the Saints and Rams pits Dunbar against his former team for the first time. And even though he's almost...

Rams Place C Scott Wells On Season-Ending Injured Reserve

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams have placed C Scott Wells on season-ending injured reserve with a fractured fibula. The Rams subsequently signed G Brandon Washington to their active roster. Wells, 32, has been a pretty big disappointment since he signed with St. Louis back in 2012. The Rams gave him a four-year contract worth $24 million...

Rams are guaranteed another non-winning season

ST. LOUIS (AP) The St. Louis Rams are in a familiar spot, playing out the string in December and assured of the franchise's 10th consecutive season without a winning record. With some of their goals missed, the players will just have to keep pushing. "We have to finish strong," defensive end Robert Quinn said after the 30-10 loss at Arizona on Sunday. "You don...
