Randall Cobb, the Green Bay Packers‘ rookie receiver, was selected today to the Pro Football Weekly and the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team.
Cobb, who electrified America with his performance on opening night back in September with a spectacular 108-yard spinning return for a touchdown, also returned a punt for a touchdown later in the season.
Cobb was a second-round draft choice from Kentucky last April and made the Packers as the kickoff returner. He led all rookies with a 27.7-yard average in 34 returns, ahead of Carolina’s Kealoha Pilares, who averaged 25.7.
The punt-return honor went to Arizona’s Patrick Peterson, who averaged 15.9. Cobb was second among rookies with 11.3.
He also saw time as a receiver, catching 25 balls for 375 yards.
Former Wisconsin player J.J. Watt of Houston made the team at defensive end.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It was obvious to anyone watching the games. It might as well have been in boldface in the box scores. It was pointed out repeatedly by the players and coaches: The Green Bay Packers were a very poor pass-rushing team this season, and it affected every aspect of their defense.

McCarthy: Packers' tackling 'not there all year'
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy knows fans like to imagine the big signings they would make if they were the general manager, and the bold play calls they would make if they were wearing his headset.
For McCarthy, though, splashy free agent moves and wholesale scheme overhauls aren't the main things needed to fix the Packers' defense. McCarthy knows it might cause...

The Sad Owners/Fans of Green Bay
It’s all a feel good story until the team gets smoked in the playoffs as favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers head into the offseason after getting spanked by the Giants with ‘ownership’ left wondering and saddened.
We all know by now that most of the Packers fans that attend their games are ‘owners’ because they’ve purchased...
Time For a Roof on Lambeau Field?
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE THIS LOOK. Problem is, the current Packers cant hack it in the cold. Other teams love coming to Lambeau in the Playoffs now.
Yes, you read that right. It is time to put a retractable roof on Lambeau Field. I don’t give a crap how much it costs, cost is not an issue. Just hold a Packer charity or something and 100s of thousands of Packer fans...
