It was time for end of Urlacher era

I was in line at the Jewel grocery store Wednesday when word started spreading through Chicago: Brian Urlacher is no longer a Bear. Where were you when you heard it, Chicago? "They finally did it?'' the guy behind me asked. "What did they get for him?'' They didn't trade him. They dumped him. "They dumped him,'' he repeated. "Ah...

Urlacher's status still up in the air

Marc Trestman understands that Chicago Bears fans anxiously want to know whether iconic middle linebacker Brian Urlacher will be returning for a 14th NFL season. Unfortunately for them, Chicago's new head coach doesn't have an update. Urlacher remained unsigned Wednesday as Trestman spoke with the media Wednesday morning at the NFL owners meeting. The fact Urlacher hasn...

Brian Urlacher will not be back with Bears

The Chicago Bears announced Wednesday that the team was unable to reach an agreement on a new contract with unrestricted free agent middle linebacker Brian Urlacher.

Urlacher says the Bears never negotiated with him, gave him an ultimatium

After the Chicago Bears announced tonight that they weren’t going to be re-signing linebacker Brian Urlacher, he made it clear that he was given an ultiminatium. The Bears reportedly made Urlacher a one-year, $2 million offer and said take it, or leave it. “It wasn’t even an offer, it was an ultimatum,” Urlacher told the Chicago Tribune. “I feel like I’m a decent football...

Matt Forte is getting ready to pay the fines for lowering his helmet

One of the many running backs that isn’t happy about the new rule that the NFL passed which prohibits offensive players from striking defenders with the crown of their helmets, is Bears’ running back Matt Forte. After finding out that the rule passed, Forte tweeted that he’s going to open a bank account to pay his fines. https://twitter.com/MattForte22/status/314441836494209027...

Bears: Devin Hester will only be used as a return man

The days of Devin Hester playing wide receiver are over. New Bears coach Marc Trestman said on Wednesday that the explosive Hester will only be used as a return man for the team. This news is hardly surprising as Hester has been a liability in the passing game and the Bears have also had a turnover on their coaching staff. Under Lovie Smith the Bears attempted to get Hester more...

Bears TE Evan Rodriguez Arrested in Miami (Mugshot)

When athletes go to Miami in the offseason, bad things seem to happen. Normally, they happen after 3am. In the case of Bears TE Evan Rodriguez, he was hitting the clubs a little too hard and according to CBS Miami was arrested for resisting arrest. He was released on $1500 Bond.

Bears plan on running the read-option in 2013

According to Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, Bears’ head coach Marc Ttrestman told him that they plan on running the read-option with Jay Cutler in 2013. I guess Trestman is confident in Cutler’s mobility.  I would do my best to keep him out of harms way after all of the big hits he’s taken over the years.  He’s not the most durable quarterback.   Need NFL Tickets?...

In honor of Brian Urlacher leaving Chicago, here's Tom Brady juking him

Of course, we've all seen this video before. I feel like Brady has one of these surprisingly athletic but not really that athletic moves every year. Last year it might've been either his scramble for a TD against Buffalo or when he kicked Ed Reed in the balls, can't decide which I liked more. Anyway, Brian Urlacher is leaving Chicago after they basically told him they...

Bears sign TE Steve Maneri

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with tight end Steve Maneri.

Report: Vikings Not interested In Urlacher Unless He Lowers Asking Price

Brian Urlacher is in search of a new team after the Bears chose to part ways and not re-sign him.  Many experts figure the Minnesota Vikings would be a logical landing spot. The Vikings and Urlacher’s camp have had some initial conversations, and there seems to be mutual interest. Pro Football Talk is reporting that the interest won’t be serious until Urlacher comes down in...
